Thanks to everyone, I'll get a chain, a new bench and kettle bell over the next few months, I'll try and reduce calorie and train a bit smarter and harder.

If you want to get your ideal body then you need to know how to feed it and that is really the answer to all of this.

I know I'm a broken record but I'd recommend Lyle Mcdonald's work and in particular 'ultimate diet 2.0' which is available as a PDF.

I wouldn't bother with Kettlebells imo. Mainly for the reason that 1 KB will not be enough for good variety of exercises, you'd need 2 at least, but also if you buy 1 12Kg KB, all you have is 1 12Kg KB. If you want to add some intensity progression, you're inable to do with with 1 weight. A Dumbbell OTOH can be swung around just like a KB, the only difference is the handle/shape for difficulty. A good adjustable DB set gives you the ability to alter the weight!

Having said that, I saw somewhere that people were now making adjustable KB sets. Can't remember where I saw them, but don't expect cheap.

Yes, ideally you'd need at least two as the lighter one might be enough for some exercises but too easy for others.

I'd sack off a Kettlebell idea and get some Brazil nuts instead.

I was thinking about either kettle bell or bulgarian bag (v. pricey)
Squat rack would do my back in I think.
I love my Bulgarian Bag - well, except when I hate it! - but here is a possible alternative at 1/5 the price

Quick update.
Treadmill has arrived, run every other day, row every other day, 6 x a week, plus weights for toning. I don't want to be "big".
Bought a weight chain for dips and pull ups.
Diet, still tough, weight stable but do feel the last few pounds are being swapped for muscle.

Seem stuck on pull ups, 10 with narrow palms towards me, 6-7 wide with palms away. Been like this for weeks / months hoping weighted ones will help increase normal ones.

May still get a B. bag or sandbag see how it goes.

Two things:
1) It isn't that easy.
2) You won't wake up one day, look in the mirror and see this:

And if you did, you're probably going to be able to make a lot of money.

Train hard and as heavy as you can. See where you get. wink

Was 'Hot' a Freudian slip or just a typo?

I get your point, thank you Hoofy.
I think you may have exaggerated my interpretation of "big".

Fair enough. Take whatever you can get because you'll look great. smile
