All the more so seeing as I wasn't going to go to the doctors until next week and only could because my tutorial this morning was cancelled because the tutor had flu!

I had the same thing about 20 years ago - after 3 times and complicated by asthma, they removed part of the lung to 'stick' it to the rib cage. Hurt for a bit but never any problems after that.

Just don't go scuba diving or parachuting where the pressure could give you a problem

Oh, and if they ever fit a drain, don't step on the tube then try and stand up, jeez that hurt!!!

You'll be fine. BTW - I'm 5'8", so it happens to anyone I guess!

I hope you are feeling better soon Muncher. I'm glad they are letting you home so soon, Flasher has been in hospital for over six weeks now.

I'm only 5'9".

They've said go back in a week, but then gave me an appointment for the 23rd. I'm going to change that, as if it isn't fixed I don't want to be in there over Xmas.

I think there's something about me and unusual injuries

m8 dropped a broken bottle on my hand - 3 stitches
same m8 drops my football boot on my head - eyebrow glued back together
another m8 kicked me in the face playing football in his front room - broken nose
another m8 "rock bottoms me" - off to hospital on a spinal board

I'm still pretty sore, the worst thing is not knowing if it's fixed properly and if it could happen again

The nurse stood on mine... which was nice. so I know exactly what you are talking about.

Mine was steak knife induced, but the effect was the same.

Get well soon Muncher, it was about this time of year when it happened to me, and although I wasn't 100% I was feeling much better by Christmas day. However, avoid lifting things for a while as you don't realise what muscles and stuff are connected!

Got Brundle's new DVD and PH on laptop in bed, what more would I want m8s coming round later too. It's now dawning on me that it probably started over 2 months ago, I had similar chest pains and a rattly chest 11 weeks ago in a football trial
