A fast walk has a lot of beneficial properties and is great for tapping into fat reserves. I'm doing lots of fast walks as of this week but my aim is a little different which is to lose fat but retain muscle.

I suppose the better all round answer is whichever you are likely to keep doing. If you find the time taken walking means you are less likely to do it, better to cycle than take the car and do nothing.
I used 90kg for my answers but as you say, whichever the OP will keep up is better that nothing at all!
