Stayed about the same this week, which, given the takeaway pizza last weekend and valentines day McDonalds (wife is a chef, don't judge!) I'll take.

Prepped 5 chicken wraps this week, and realised that the mini wraps bought in tesco hold hardly anything! I'd rather the extra calories on a full sized one!

My weight loss is very gradual. Around -0.25kg this week but I’m seeing good progress with fat loss. I have a belt I use for weight lifting and that’s now showing a c.3 inch reduction in my waist size this year.

Feeling far healthier with a much improved diet, loads of exercise and minimal alcohol this year.

Be glad to see the weather improving though as I hate walking the dog in the rain which is pretty much every day at the minute.
Nice one, I'm down a belt notch and wore a waistcoat the other day that was uncomfortably tight the last time I had to wear it.

Excellent results!

It’s a great feeling isn’t it, when your clothes are no longer tight!

And all the while you’re wearing them, you end up just feeling better and therefore have more confidence. Which then builds more motivation to keep looking after yourself.

I made the cardinal sin of holding onto a new pair of jeans that were same size (and identical brand, item number etc) as my current pair. But being new they were a fraction too tight. 7weeks on, they now fit perfectly. Joy!

Still here and I’ll add myself to the wiki at some point, when I’m brave enough to weigh myself again.

Last May I rolled (possibly broke) my ankle and it’s taken months to heal, it was swollen until about October and even now I’m a bit reluctant to do anything much more than walking, but tonight I decided to try a couple of short spells of jogging at the gym and it was ok, which is good progress.

In trying to force myself back into the habit of going to the gym after work, even if it’s only for 30 minutes, and considering how much running helped me last time I lost weight, being able to jog even for a short time is a huge step. Mix that with some cycling and some rowing and it’s a workout I’m happy with.

Anyway, give me a couple of weeks and I’ll dig out the scales…

Do some single leg ankle strengthening exercises to help your ankle recover a bit quicker. I rolled mine badly in Jan 2019 and although I didn’t break it, it took me 2 months before I tried running and could still feel it a year later. Here’s a nice pic of it sat whilst sat waiting for an x ray.

I seem to have plateaud with no real weight loss for a couple of weeks despite a great start. It’s really frustrating as I’ve cut right back on my drinking, eating much less and getting more exercise so I’m not sure what to try next

Back from a few days in Bristol away for work, I chose my hotel based purely on them having a decent gym with a concept 2 rower lol.

Closing in on 1 stone down now, hopefully in the next day or two I'll see it on the scales biggrin
Here to brag that I hit the 1 stone mark today.

Defo feeling it in my waistline and the moobs are a bit less jiggly.

Key for me seems to be knocking the booze on the head. I was a massive drinker before but I've pretty much stopped entirely and the few occasions I have drank have been 2-3 pints instead of my previous 5-7 every night.

Generally trying to be more active which is a walk around the business park at lunch (about 1.4 miles) and 30 mins on either my static bike or rower of an evening.

Diet wise, I've not made huge changes. I generally wasn't eating too badly, just large portions. Trying not to eat after 7pm too.

According to my Galaxy Watch 3 (wearing it all day) my resting heart rate on 31 Dec was 68 (boozing lots at the time). Today it's 49. I find that the most shocking stat!

A nice milestone to hit! Big change for the better in the heart rate as well!!

Breaking it down into lots of small targets is how I'm now approaching it.
Today I broke through the barrier to be under 21st, (133.9kg), my next target is to get to 130kg (20st 6) and then on from there to sub 20st.

It's hard going, but I've got a work trip to Japan in 10 days and would like my shirts to not be super skin tight and not be uncomfortable, already I can feel they fit better and I'm less bloated.

Back on track today and hit two milestones:

- 1 stone lost officially
- BMI now 29.9 (overweight rather than obese)

Super happy with this. Onwards and upwards.

I am down 9KG from starting on the 13th of Jan. I started at 92KG and the target is 80. Then I will strap on a blood sugar monitor to see if Michael Mosley's approach has sorted out some slightly too high blood sugar readings.

A gain of 0.3kg over 2 weeks - I'm ok with that. Said to myself I would weigh today whether things were back under control or not. Had a week with a lot of meals out and then struggled to get my act together. Seeing one of the lads at work doing really well with his weight loss dragged me back on track. Back to fat club today for the public weighbridge!

The glass half full says I've lost 4.7kg this year, or 12.7kg since the start of 2023. Glass half empty and I'm still 4.4kg heavier than the end of November.

In mitigation I have a bicep/shoulder injury which is keeping me from exercising to any extent and making sleep difficult, but these threads wouldn't exist if we weren't flawed!

3lb loss this week, pleased to be back on it. Overall a 17kg loss which I'm very pleased with - next Target is 20kg!

Wife wants a kebab tonight, so it'll be a medium shish with no sauce for me. Basically just a grilled chicken pitta (that's my logic anyway!)

Good to read that everyone (even the slightly disgruntled plateau-ing posts) are doing very well and progressing their goals. It’s almost end of feb, 8weeks in!

At risk of being laughed at and thrown off this thread for being an lightweight ‘imposter’, I only needed to lose a modest 3/4 of a stone, to get to my target weight. I’m naturally slim, but behind my clothes my belly was visibly very much made of fat, overhanging, and if I didn’t do anything about it it would just balloon. Nip it in the bud as they say.

So, feeling really good yesterday after a great start to the year I finally got on the scales. My reduction on waist size was reflected in that I’m back down to my target weight of 10 - 3st down from 11st when I last weighed in tail end of last year.

I now see this is where the hard work (for me) really begins. It’s to keep the motivation so I don’t slip back, and as exercise is now being introduced it’ll be a rocky few months to get the overall balance correct. My focus though is now on overall body health.

A couple of injuries have set me back from the exercise front; I've had a dodgy ankle for a couple of weeks now, and now I seem to have added a sprained wrist which is almost constantly painful and at some points mean I can't even lift a kettle.

It just means I have to be stricter with diet and hope that I fix myself fairly soon.

Happy with a general downward trend with my weight again this week. Down 1 kg since 14th February.

There have been fluctuations through the week, though. I started at 76.9 kg at 1105hrs on 14th Feb. At 2340hrs on 15 Feb the scale told me I was up to 78.3 kg, but that may have been because it was our delayed Valentines meal, with booze. This morning at 1115hrs I stripped off and weighed myself, and took three identical readings of 75.9 kg. It's definitely heading in the right direction overall. Three consecutive weeks ending the week lighter than I started it, even if all those weeks have seen a couple of days where I finished a day heavier than the day before.

I also threw in another multiple weigh-in day yesterday:
1230hrs - 75.3 kg (166.0 lb)
1650hrs - 75.7 kg (166.9 lb)
Out for a 10k run.
1930hrs - 75.4 kg (166.2 lb)
A soak in the bath.
2000hrs - 75.3 kg (166.0 lb)

I know it's not an overly scientific approach, but I'm curious to see if there are obvious patterns in weight fluctuations over the course of a day.

BMI is an odd one. Using the same numbers for age and height, and the same sex/gender, my 'Salter' scale tells me I'm at 27.5. My Garmin Connect data says I'm at 27.0 even though it uses the same weight,as I input that myself from the scale.
Either number, though, puts me well into 'overweight' territory, and according to the body composition analysis feature of the scale I'm carrying too much fat and not enough muscle.

The work continues, but after that 10k run last night I've got a nasty pain in my right shin, right at the site of the plate that's still in there from a Tib/Fib break and subsequent ORIF a few years ago. I don't want to dial back on the exercise, but I might have to...

Slimming world had me down half a pound so I'll take their scales over mine (+0.3kg) this week.

A couple of comments today about losing weight which are always nice - although one bizarrely from the man who runs the Chinese takeaway hehe

Treat day and haven't gone completely bananas so hopefully press on from tomorrow.

Two days of no disturbance in the office (where my exercise stuff lives) so hopefully get on the rower and Zwift bike. For someone who rowed 60k metres a week until very recently, it's scary how quickly fitness (or whatever it was) can drop off.

Hit a milestone this morning at 69.25 kg and am now 50% of the way to my target weight. My BMI is officially normal at 25.0 using old style calculation rather than have something mechanical do it for me (kg / height in metres squared for those interested). This has been done by running a roughly 500 calorie deficit Monday to Friday and then calorie matching at the weekend. Clothes are all a much better fit again and I'm feeling much less sluggish than I was after Christmas

I'll have a cheat day next weekend for celebrating my birthday and then back on it. My spreadsheet tells me it's taken 7 weeks to lose that 4.25 kg so another 7 weeks and I'll be close to target. I'm expecting it to take a bit longer as the last couple of kilos are always an absolute bh to shift in my experience. I'm not even sure if I can do it as I've built muscle since last time I was that weight and it may be too extreme, but we'll see.

Just under 0.5kg lost this week. Good diet and loads of exercise. I have started drinking alcohol again but only had 1.5 pints so stop a limited amount.

Pleased with progress and close to my end of Feb target of 13 stone. Weighed in at 13 stone 0.2lbs

Probably look to drop another 7-14 lbs by the end of April/May.

Have a good weekend all
