Oh. I guess there is more running around? Surely it should be 5 though?
7-a-side has slightly more running than 11 I'd say, 5-a-side is probably double the running! It will be easier once I've lost a stone of fat though smile

Mixed week really, missed the gym tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday but did run 9k Tuesday.

Went out for a few beers last night which descended into a proper session, doomage considering I was running this morning at 9am. 4.75k at 5:31 min/km, not going to lie - i felt st.

Weighed myself in yesterday, lost 3lb. Happy with this as I've really tried to limit my carb intake this week.

I *think* I have shin splints in my right leg, hopefully ibruprofen and a good soak will reduce the swellIng.

Back in the gym tomorrow morning, going to try and avoid running till next week. Keep up the good work all - remember - pain is temporary.

Fell of the wagon so to speak last week or so having been home for easter, going to various family for meals and what not so haven't really been able to control whats going into my body as much as i'd like to (and ive had a few nights out on the beer). On the up side, got in a hundred or so miles cycling in over the past week and a half so not all bad.

Looking forward to getting back on wednesday and start a big push again for a month or so. Having read through various threads on here I think i'm going to experiment with Ketosis, or at least cut a load of carbs out of my diet, as although i've had a high-ish calorie deficit, and lost a fair bit of weight, i've pretty much been living of carbs (pasta, beans on toast, stir fry with rice/noodles, deli wraps and the like).

Oh and going to abstain from alcohol I think, or heavily cut down as i've been told it messes with your metabolism? Also, i'm a beer drinker which i'm guessing is carbs?

Give up beer and you'll see the weight come off without doing much else... when it plateaus then you can see where you are and start experimenting with low carb diets.

Back to it today not trained since Thursday as the gym has been closed. Drank far to much over weekend so need to put some hard work in.

I think im going to start upping the calories. Think im probably not getting enough which is why my loss has very much stalled.

Trouble is i need a good way to get more in without upping the volume of food. As im already always full up with what i eat already.

That is my current issue. Nuts and peanut butter seems a good way of getting round it.

I didn't realise I was on so few calories until last week.

Hmmm. An Easter of two halves it would seem. Didn't lose any weight, despite the exercise, but then I ate poorly and didn't put any on either.

I did do plenty on the Cotswold Way:

30km hilly walking on Friday
9km hilly walking Saturday, immediately followed by 9km hilly running (back to get the car...)
9km hilly running Sunday, followed by 9km of hilly walking (back to the car...slowly learning to do things the right way round).

I now have sore hips, tight calves, a mildly swollen ankle and a good excuse to devote this week to upper body weights while the legs recover properly.

I also did an push day today and am feeling it in the shoulders, having incorporated an overhead press into the routine. Push/Pull/Legs might be the new way to work out for me - it works so much better time-wise. New protein too, so hopefully should knock myself off the Easter weight plateau by cutting carb % back and upping the protein post workout. Been the same weight for ten days now, which is disappointing.

Final positive was I did one of the tests for the month-end too - and upped a record. Every little helps.

Yeah can see that.

Whats chicken roll ?

I thought peanuts would be a bad option as they are full of fat.

Not good fat either. If you are light on cals try a tasty oil dressing for salads etc. I quite like a walnut and avocado oil with lemon or lime dressing.

Like the chicken version of ham slices. Probably contains beak, anus and claw but that's chicken, too.

I thought peanuts had good fats...

My bad. I'm biased against peanuts as they're legumes and not nuts at all.
They're actually quite rich in monounsaturated omega 3 fats so not bad fats as such. Apologies.
My preference is still for walnut and avocado oils for dressings and EVOO for cooking.

Almond butter is a nice alternative to PB.

Try eating fattier meat to gain calories. So salmon & lean mince. Also add in avacado, sweet potato and yogurt.

Nice one. My favourite type of cooking is just to have a think and experiment rather than listen to that tongue-tied tt...
