Yesterday:

20 miles on the road bike. Played with the cleats and made some adjustments prior to going out, seemed to work! Felt really good on the bike, in the big ring for all my local climbs...

Followed by deadlifts at the gym. Didn't really keep track but numerous sets of 5-10@100, then doubles/singles up to 150kg. Happy with that considering my layoff.

That my strength training block come to an end now, going to try to keep all my reps above 7 minimum for the next while. Also adding a lot more conditioning, by way of my heavy Kettle bell on my off days- fitness is lacking as it's been an all out bulk since the start of the year.

Back to some proper bodybuilding- lots of reps, lots of sets, lots of graft. Slowly lean out for the next 2 months before another bulking block for 2 months, rinse and repeat until a proper cut starting in November/December, with an aim to competing April next year.
looking chunky eek

did you take some measurements when you were lean to see how you compare when you lean down this time? be interesting to see whats happened to the bricks behind the render smile

Cheers, definately packed on some muscle. Measurement wise- waist remains the same (just), everything else is bigger. I'm actually a bit leaner than I'd anticipated at this point, so that's good. Still, mild cut for a while, then start eating stupid ammounts again! Did a bit of posing today, looked reasonable smile

Cheers, following what you do tongue out
Switched to high carb, working on weaknesses and it's all coming together. Just need to diet again, sitting at a casual 150kg laugh

Well done Smiffy thumbup

Two really good sessions yesterday and today at the gym - yesterday on the flat bench dumbbell press - a new pr of 180lb. Never used the 90 pounders before so did two sets of seven reps. Felt really strong. Same in the gym today, nice and strong, did a tour of the machines. Tomorrow will have a crack at my bench press pr - deffo think a 135kg is on the cards.

Pleased with my condition, not super ripped but quite thick and full.

This morning just a quick spin out on the bike with the other half.

I mostly do cardio but worked for 5 months to get to a target, the machines are not fully accurate but a nice goal along the way, and a lot of hard work. (end figure 1020 calories burnt in 65 minutes)

Now looking to double it I currently do this about 4 days a week.

Stronger, bigger, more productive. Well, the first two any how!....

Stage ready 220lbs/100kgs for this time next year is the aim. Big ask, but it'll get done.

Short and sweet back and chest workout today - no deadlifts this week, sticking to my separate 16 week DL program..

Wide grip Pull Ups (neck behind bar) - 5 sets of 12/12/10/10/10 - getting better!
Bench Press - 6 sets of 12/12/9/6/3/8 (last being a drop set)
BB BOR - 4 sets of 12-8 reps
Incline Bench Press - 4 sets of 12-8 reps
DB Pullover - 4 sets of 16-10 reps

Thought I'd try a pull/push/pull/push/pull, didn't go too bad at all.

Trained back in Aberdeen mid-week - wasn't feeling great and just ached a lot! So kept the workout light and did some leg press rather than squats. But, my word, my aductors feel prone doing that exercise now! Also did some flat bench, shoulder press (in Smith machine) and barbell curls but nothing worth noting at all.

Bit better tonight:

Trap-bar deadlift: 10 x 200kg (didn't push it after tight aductors earlier in the week)

Incline dumbbell press: 5 x 60kg, 12 x 50kg

Dumbbell rows: 2 x 12 x 60kg (no option of going heavier so just more reps for a few weeks)

Some tricep work (pushdowns)

Still getting slowly leaner (the most sustainable way) while bodyweight is also going up a wee bit.

Tough undulating ride this morning - 63km (I think), nearly 33kph average. Then an hour of benching and weighted pull ups at the gym - new bench pb set - 134kg for 4 reps. Pleased.

I feel leg press hits my legs much harder than squats- particularly in the odd places/muscles that squats seem not to use!

Wasn't battered from comp at all, almost feels like a shallow victory/training session?
Jumped in events session at the strongman gym I train at once/twice a week yesterday, worked up to the smoothest 300kg (suited) deadlift I've done ever.
It's getting easier every time, hoping for a big number for the end of the year.
Very quick 120kg log too.
Going to get a sports massage for the little aches then resume training Wednesday/Thursday smile
