I’ve had it for over a week now… hacking horrible persistent cough and horrendous congestion. Gave in and went into Boots to buy some full strength Sudafed only to get a real lecture from the Pharmacist who clearly thought I going to use the tabs to make crystal meth or something. Felt like sneezing on her counter to illustrate the need irked

I have been ill for like 3 plus weeks now, kind of got better last Thursday which was convenient as had a Stag do to go on for the weekend which I did and mostly limited my drinking and did a bit of self preservation. Wasnt going to go as felt crap but felt well enough to go.

Get back, rough as a badgers arse again, full of phelgm, hacking cough and had the galloping squits on Monday night just to compound things, no energy and thoroughly pissed off with it all.

Not sure if I have had two separate things back to back, one guy on the stag do did announced he had Covid when he got back having done a test.

Not done any exercise for three weeks, feel marginally better today but did on Tuesday then rough again yesterday.

Think I’m going to have to see the doc; still coughing horribly and producing… well, let’s not dwell on that.

No temperature or other symptoms apart from quite a sore throat first thing. Whatever this one is can fk right off… grumpy

I've had 3 occurrences of chest infections (or a similar thing with hacking cough, sore throat, producing phlegm, fever, tiredness etc) in the past 9 weeks. I would start with a sore throat and I could pretty much feel it tracking down to my chest when I would start with the cough and phlegm. After a week or so it would go and i'd be "clear" for 2-3 weeks before it happening again.

I assumed they were different infections but seems it may be the same thing based on what has been posted previously. I was a bit concerned after the 3rd occasion so I went to the doctors. They didn't seem that concerned and just said there's a few viral infections going around which can last a while and to go back in 2 weeks if it doesn't clear or comes back again. They also didn't prescribe antibiotics as they said my chest sounds clear so didn't think they would help.

This has been me for at least two weeks. There was one or two days in amongst where I felt a bit crap and had a bit of 'sinus-y pressure'. Most days just wake up with what feels like a mild hangover and sore throat, to then be fine an hour or so later but feeling quite tired in the PM.

The Mrs has been really rough for two weeks now, symptoms look like noro to me, a bit better this morning, she reckons she's never having another covid jab.

I’ve been off work for 2 weeks. Started with a cough, 12 hours later I’m in bed with what can only be described as proper flu. I was in bed for a week, in the end called the doctors and to get out of bed as it was sitting on my chest.
Felt rough for another week, (today was the first day feeling ok, just low energy and breathless.

I don’t think I’ve ever been this ill.

Christmas tree not up and I love Christmas! Just haven’t fot the energy or wellbeing to put it up.

Picked something rotten up this weekend. Fine Saturday morning but as the day progressed could feel myself get worse as the day went on, fever, headache, ear ache, feels like body weighs 5 time what it should. Everything aches or hurts. Sunday was no better, cough developed, spent day in bed. This morning felt better when woke up, but half hour doing work emails wiped me out and I slept for 5 hours… now feel worse than I did on weekend.

Last year had a horrible chest infection which took months to finally clear, so hoping it’s not a repeat of that.

Last year at this time I felt absolutely dreadful and it has just happened again. I could feel it coming on last week, I started sneezing, head felt like it was full of cotton wool and I had a slight cough but nothing too bad. Thought I was going to get off lightly, but yesterday it kicked in with avengence and I feel absolutely dreadful now.

Cough, headache, aches and shivers and coughing up green plegm this morning.

Sinuses feel solid with mucus and I can't stop sneezing.

Lovely, especially as I am flying to Australia on Friday. As if 25 hours in economy wasn't bad enough already. I hope I feel at least a bit better by then.

Had something similar a month ago; not sure what it was exactly but it kicked my ass for 2.5 weeks and I lost almost all hearing for the best part of 4 weeks - it’s only just returned to normal this past week. Scared the st out of me and I really thought I had done something serious to my ears. Misery compounded by the fact I’m in the Netherlands and you can’t buy any decently strong flu medicines in the supermarkets, paracetamol and ibuprofen only.

Though the numbers are low, this is concerning, whooping cough was nearly the death of me when I was little and I'm still prone to chest infections, 70 years later - the UK in winter is a very bug-ridden place!

Day 6 of this now, thought I was getting better on Wednesday but yesterday got considerably worse. Ear ache has gone but it now feels blocked, which is annoying.

Had 3 days off work as sitting at desk was agony with aches and pains, but I’m back working from home now. Mind feels sluggish so not the most productive. Hoping another weekend at home in the warmth will help recovery, although it’s my partners dads 60th on Sunday and we’ve got plans for that.

I rarely get ill, and if I do it just tends to be a cold and sniffles.. but my wife felt rough last Friday, and I started feeling unwell on Tuesday…and it is knocking the stuffing out of me. frown

I feel detached, as if I am not really here, my head pounded Wednesday, migraine level stuff.. Since then I have been freezing or sweating. Last night I soaked the bedding and had to use a towel to dry myself and the duvet cover as much as possible, flipping it over etc.. It was just repeat after that. Every 45 mins, drop off to sleep - wake in a sweaty shaking mess. Miserable.

I currently feel shaky and nauseous, my appetite has completely disappeared, and I am just shoving paracetamol down my throat every 4 hours.

I recently turned 52, but haven’t had the flu jab.. not sure if there’s any point now? This virus can do one.. horrendous. frown

I'm sitting in Terminal 5 about to go to Tenerife for 5 weeks.

My good friend is supposed come out tomorrow but something has hit her and she's too sick to consider travel.

Must be bad as she normally shrugs off stuff that'll have me crying to my mum.

So now that's me on my lonesome until another mate comes out in three weeks time.

My wife had a cold and I think I’m on my third in the last couple of months and they’ve all caused us neck/back aches.

Nursery and primary school, and lockdowns, has bred some rough lurgies.
