I had a go of a few bags last week, BB, hydro bag, heavy duty bag, all great fun. BB seems most versatile due to it's multiple hand grips and shape.
I like them all though, especially power cleaning the heavyduty bag and then powerbombing it to the floor.

We had a massively wide TAO Sports heavy bag that weighed around 150lb and was too wide to get the hands all the way round. One exercise(?) was to partially wrap the hands round it and run laps of the garden, set number, most possible or for timed intervals. It was one of the hardest most sickening things I've ever done!

With the Power and Bulgarian bags if you have space you can throw them vertically, over and behind the head, from side to side or push press/throw them out and then retrieve them. Gives a very good session.

As you note the multiple grips on the BB make it versatile and really good for grip work + with the straps you can repeat the throws ('tethered') in less space. It's very expensive and a full set would be eye watering but it is bloody good.
