Adcortyl in Orabase was a brilliant product, now sadly discontinued. But you can buy a 30 gm tube of Orabase, which is tons more than you'll need, and put a little of it on your mouth ulcer as and when needed. This will coat the ulcer letting it heal under the coating while protecting it which should take most of the pain away.

Anyone with mouth ulcers lasting longer than three weeks needs to see their GP

Difflam mouthwash, get it from the chemist.

It works very well for some and useless for others, give it a whirl

Stress is a good cause.

This will make people go wobble but I bite them off. Your mouth heals crazily quickly so you once you've bitten it off it doesnt take long for the pain to stop and for it to heal.
yes

Or just ignore it. It's only pain.

I've not had much success getting rid of mouth ulcers them but when I'm regularly taking a multi-vitamin I get considerably less of them. Prevention is better than cure.

So I still have it and I was advised to by something called Igloo from Boots - you rub a bit on and it drys to form a barrier, while numbing the pain.

It seems to work ok, although I find it also ends up numbing the gum where the lip meets the gumline which feels a bit weird!

If it is not gone in the next week I will go to GP.

Letting a soluble Aspirin dissolve against it helped when I had a really horrific huge one on my cheek lining.

Persistent ones (not even starting to improve after a week) are worth taking to the GP: there are a bunch of things that cause them, or make you more susceptible to them, most of those things are minor/trivial/ignorable, but a few are worth checking for and can be treated.
