Well done Lawrence!

So now is not the time to go back to where you were before so what is your next goal? I always find setting goals and then moving onto the next goal is critical to continue upwards progress.

My goal is to maintain / build a bit of muscle, the end photo was after water depletion so i put a certain amount of it back on again.
Then took a week off the gym, to re-evaluate, i started back again though on Monday & will be training 4 days a week again like before, i don't want the gut back again so it's maintenace really more than anything
I will share something with you that I do but which I don't usually talk about.

Every day, I work on building my motivation, passion and commitment to all that I do. I personally believe a strong focus on strengthening motivation is critical for all that we do.

So before I go the gym I listen to music that makes me want to do and be more. I also watch videos that remind me what I want to be, not what I am today. For instance before my session yesterday, I watched this video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ds-s4Hk_ALs

And this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZf_NBYaJfk

We are all motivated in different ways be it by a sound track, video, a story or something else and taking the time to build motivation, tracking goals and measuring progress means I improve on what I do overtime.

I also do the same things at work and usually read a few pages of my favourite book each morning (As a man thinketh).

It's different for everyone but doing that has allowed me to drive forward for years in each area of my life.

Oh yeah in that respect i'm always trying to lift a bit more but i meant i dont have any specific size or weight goals.
I don't either in that way. I just have mini-goals like "I want to power snatch 30kg" or "I want to do planche push ups" and will train for them. The physical changes will come with the training. Take the likes of Jessica Ennis.

I'm certain her goal wasn't "I want a 6 pack". She got a body many women would love to achieve as a side effect of training. It would be funny if that really was her goal and she won her medals as a side effect of trying to get a 6 pack, though. biggrin

Congrats OP. I'm looking to get into a bit of shape myself. I'm about 5'10 and 30 yo. I haven't done hardly any exercise at all for probably the last 10 years or so. But I found myself with time on my hands and a cross trainer at the start of the year. As of Xmas last year, I was around 14stone 2lb. I'm now down to 13stone, just by watching what I've been eating and doing a little bit of exercise here and there. I've been going circuit training once a week, and trying to do a few light jogging exercises and a bit of xtrainer.

Finally tonight, I've joined up to the gym full time, so I get classes and unltd gym. My aim is to tone up a bit and generally lose a bit more weight. I'd like to get down to around 11 1/2 - 12stone, and maintain that sort of level for at least 6 months.
