Training whilst on holiday.
Discussion
I'm going away for two weeks in Vietnam. A couple of nights in Saigon then the rest of the time in Mui Ne.
I've lost around 20 lb in anticipation of the holiday. The holiday is going to be a relaxing beach one. Also, given that I'm Vietnamese, I'll be partaking in all the Vietnamese food I can get my grubby mits on.
Although I know I will put weight on, I want to limit the unhealthiness and plan to exercise everyday.
We've got a beach bungalow so I'll plan to go for a run along the beach in the morning whilst the girlfriend is still in bed. I'll also pack a skipping rope. Then maybe a few bodyweight exercises. Perhaps a little circuit involving press ups, squats, crunches, burpees, squat thrusts.
Any more suggestions? Oh and I can't swim.

I've just managed to drop 2lbs whilst on holiday for 10 days. I am a morning person so got up every morning to go along beach as far as I could get in the time I had available (beach was 5km long). Got to see some fantastic sunrises on fairly deserted beaches with my feet in warm sea. Was wonderful and did not seem like a chore.
Also lots of swimming helps
Had plenty of food treats whilst out there.
2lbs is not a lot but it certainly bucks the trend of previous holidays where I would always put weight on. Get up early, get your exercise out of the way whilst it is still cool out and then you can enjoy your day

I take a set of resistance tubes on holiday, I also use them quite a lot at home. I got mine from here: http://www.kettlebells.co.uk/tnt_cables.html I use the red tube and the exchange handles and then do a workout like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTjch566UTc it takes ten minutes and really works your legs and gets you blowing out of your arse. The tubes take up next to no room in the suitcase and come in various strengths, they really are an awesome bit of kit that a lot of people seem to dismiss. Also don't confuse these with cheap crap sets of ebay there is a massive difference in quality and resistance.
I don't train when I'm on holiday, I use it as a break from training to rest and recover.
Two weeks off will do you good, and if you go with the idea of not training you're not going to feel guilty and pressured into training when really you should just be relaxing.
If weight loss is your thing, I would say go for long walks and get in the pool/sea often for a swim but don't see it as working, see it as enjoying your holiday.
I'm not the type of guy to cop out on my training and I train very hard and I'm extremely focused, which is why a holiday is treated as such. It's only 3.8% of your year, so on the whole will make very little difference to the bigger picture.
