Ive put on a little mass lately, not too noticable at rest but after load it has become a bit more obvious. I was wondering if others on here had an ideal shape/size they wanted to aim for, or any examples that spring to mind of being the right size or too big?

I'm talking about muscle mass btw, cake/pie mass doesn't count.

All depends on your frame, as im 6'3 and well built I could pull it off better than say my friend who is 5'10 and 9 stone wet through
I'm 5'9 (and a half) and twelve and a half stone atm.

I guess i'm asking the question the wrong way, let me phrase it differently.

If you could have anyone's shape, whose would it be?

Yeah, cut seems to be the harder part as i'm getting older. I can get muscle mass now that i couldnt in my twenties, but tone seems a lot harder.

That and i like my food more now.

I'm finding both tricky because my protein intake is still woefully low despite changing my diet to eat more chicken and fish. I'm moving in the right direction, though.
I just sat here and ate a beef and stilton pie with a ton of gravy, followed by garlic doughballs. I need to take this more seriously.

I'd be happy to have a body suitable for a Men's Health cover model shoot.
My brother is a men's health cover model.
Yeah, theyre usually about right thinking about it.

Oh yeah.

Even when we go out for dinner, he will have the boiled rice rather that egg fried rice, or steak and salad, no potatoes.

Only drinks vodka, lime and soda.

Takes discipline.

My little brother who I used to boss about!

Not so much now...biggrin
I guess this is also a big part of the question. Where do you draw the line with discipline. I go through phases of being pretty good then pigouts, usually when it's colder. Have started to make some permanent modifications to diet though, especially turning forty. No fizzy sugar drinks, no sugar in tea and no food after 8pm. Hasn't improved me but has stopped me getting any worse!

I'm 5ft 8.5in and realistically, if I can get to 12 stone dead I'll be happy. according to BMI I'll still be just on the borderline of obese, however, BMI clearly wasnt designed for people with a naturally stout physique.
Yup, i'm considered overweight by bmi. I'm not overweight.

Worst I've seen him eat is a KFC fillet burger with no mayo.

Or a roast at our mums.

We can't say no to them!
Ha! Home cooking is everyone's weakness smile

I heard the models on there are told to cough as the pic is being taken to get the tone shot. This may be bks though.

For a cover, he will have countless photos taken, of which one will be used.

He doesn't cough 50 odd times!

At that level, they have the tone without nonsense like that.
I bloody knew it!

Apparently there's a picture of me in the dictionary under gullible.

I am currently staring at Mrs plumbers sausage and bacon crusty roll which she couldn't finish, I just had two salmon fillets with two stuffed peppers (mozzerella, mushrooms, chillis) and loads of lettuce. I wont break, I've been this strict since march. I've lost 4 stone of fat and can see a lot of muscle definition appearing.

I just want to have a cut physique, don't want to be huge. I'm 5'9 13.5 stone.
Youve got a stone on me then! What waist?

Quite happy at the moment 5ft 8 1/2, 13.3 stone with my body fat between 11 - 12% I've tried to get my body fat down under 10% but it's proving difficult my diet is hit and miss.

Manual labour job + good gym training = success for me.
See, this is the other problem for me. My job has NO physical aspect to it.

Good post Del, cheers.

Some stats, i'm forty, 5'9" and usually 12 1/2 stone. I found some xmas roses a couple of days ago tho so i suspect that's gone up a little. 44" chest, 16" arm. It really is tone now that's an issue. I'm a 34" waist atm, but carrying a bit of lard round my middle.

I'm looking to get bigger but more importantly have better power.
Some stats, I'm twenty, 5'9" and about 12 1/2 stone. Heavy food weekend aswell at the bike show so that's gone up a tad. I think I'm only a 40"-42" chest though, not sure about arms and a 31" waist.

hehe

I've been working on gaining strength/power for only about a month and a bit now. However I'm in a constant debate with myself as I love long distance cycling/running. Which is obviously bad for muscle gains so I'm still trying to work out what I should do.
Yeah, ive gone the other way as ive got older. I bloody hate running, cycling, etc but i always enjoy doing chest/arm stuff. And watching telly. And eating crap.

Oh don't get me wrong I love most workouts, mainly shoulders, chest and arms. Eating anything and playing video games is my forté though.
Also trash talking baddies, don't forget that. That has to burn calories, surely?

The bit around the middle is always the stickler, based on your stats you are man shaped (bigger at the top than the middle) this is more important to me than visible abs, I have no desire to get that low on the bf%.
I'm fking johnny bravo shaped is what i am.
