I've just paid a nice young lady lots of money to torture me for half an hour, and frankly it's overrated, I don't know what people see in it. On the upside, I have nice clean teeth. She said that the condition of my gums has improved a lot since the first session three months ago, but that some of the staining had come back. I'm thinking of getting an electric toothbrush, but there seems to be a wide range of prices and not much clinical evidence that the more expensive "sonic" models are worth it.

What's the sweet spot, price-wise?

Sonicare worth it then? They seem to run from about £50 to about £250. I'm not sure what paying more gets you?
