Got me a test drive at Silverstone on Friday, taking my 10 yr old daughter to see if she approves. Looking forward to it.
Hope you enjoy it, here's a wee video I took of my test drive in the lashing rain !Edited by Oilchange on Wednesday 10th August 20:16

if you are going to buy a Lotus Evora get the S and then take it to Daniel in Mendig Germany Komotec, he has made my S another car i hesitated at first but after he fitted new manifolds sports cat air filter remap. hey presto a proper sports car, starts great on the button great in town and goes like hell 45 hp more but most noticeable is the torque in the mid range making it a joy to drive in town no more juddering in traffic smooth take offs they cannot build them like this of course as the CO2 is probably 0.2g too high. best 4K€ i have ever spent on a car done 5000km like this. hopefully he can come up with some more power if they can get the charge cooler fitted in there.
Oh and by the way it sounds fantastic.

Sounds a worthwhile upgrade although I agree re warranty. Dare say you should be able to get the Toyota lump improved in the UK with equal success.......... Just noticed the front page news regarding the Evora GTE, now we're talking!
Feel a tiny bit guilty discussing Loti away from my Porsche comfort zone but it's really a magic car!

need to book my test drive in an S as through to that stage of the Evo competition, be interesting as I did 1000 miles in a standard car in a week.
Zeb - if you haven't sorted your test drive yet you might have missed out They didn't bother contacting me to organise something until the afternoon Thursday 18th...when I called back yesterday they told me the test drive part of the competition closed on Saturday (and that was specially extended at the last minute, apparently)
NOT HAPPY...thinking of starting a separate thread on this as its not left me a good impression of the magazine or Lotus TBH
That's not great, I was contacted well over a month ago and when I went for the test drive the guy told me the closing date was about the 18th which was 10 days after the drive! There's only one dealer in Scotland with 20 entrants so maybe easier to organise than all of Englandshire.
Shame but if you vote for mine (John Cameron) I'll give you a shot

website still says test drive bit is open and still time to submit review, winner isn't drawn until December, so worth a try... Last poster, update on here if you do find anything out. Deadline for part 1 was listed, but no deadline given for part 2, nothing in the terms and conditionsShame but if you vote for mine (John Cameron) I'll give you a shot

Thanks - might give B&C a ring and see if they are still running with it. Shame is the delay in telling me has really come at a bad time - last Saturday would have been ideal but I'm away this weekend and then away for two weeks out of the country so I'll probably still have missed the boat johnycarrera said:

Know what you mean by the character limit! I wrote something I was really happy with, then was told only 1250 characters. Took longer editing down that it did to write it and not that happy with it to be honest, but we'll see, might see you at the next stage! You reckon these 'anonymous' posters are Evo staff testing you out? can't imagine how many other people are looking at the site yet.Shame but if you vote for mine (John Cameron) I'll give you a shot
Aaaaah never thought of that. Got some of my friends and family to click 5 stars and leave a wee comment but you could be right about the questions! My stars just get lower every day so think some competitors are playing dirty!
I'd be more than happy with a tour of the factory and a proper test round their circuit.

as would I. Star rating pretty meaningless I would have thought, just a clever idea to get the idea out to more people before it launches. They won't put a muppet through because he got 5 stars but can't write or slags the car off (and some of them do!) Will see if I get any comments or queries...I'd be more than happy with a tour of the factory and a proper test round their circuit.
Loved driving the car, (although I know anyone could book a test drive at a dealer) anything else on top is a bonus! I think because of the competition and the fact I have an Elise meant the guy let me do what I wanted - sport button was already on for me and he didn't tell me off once for caning it!

Nice Vid, a bit boring to watch 10min straight through, but nice nonetheless. Looks like the Evora really gets moving!!! Scary roads you guys have on the other side of the pond, so damn close to the edge and to other cars passing you! I wonder how many side view mirrors get clipped off by two of the same size vehicles passing one another! LOLhttp://youtu.be/RYLXSyEosbY
