I think he has too many players and is spoilt for choice.
Say he sells 10 players in january wipes off all the debt and doesn't replace any. He will be left with 15-20 first team players so when fit he can pick the same 11 every game. (used to be called a first team.)
I can remember when you only had 12 players, 1 to 11 and 12 sat on the bench a utility player who could come on for whoever was injured at liverpool it was david fairclough, cannot remember who was ours at united.

Don't buy it. If Jose knows who he wants to get rid of there is nothing to stop him playing his chosen 11 and letting everyone else sit on the bench or even with the reserves.Say he sells 10 players in january wipes off all the debt and doesn't replace any. What ever it is there doesn't seem to be a quick fix, so we will need to let Jose turn us around. I don't expect much for this season. Alpinestars said:
No one knows the answer to that at this stage. Might take 2 or 3 transfer windows to make progress.
The board have to face the facts they made errors in appointing Moyes and LVG, and also in the transfer market. Therefore they need to give Jose time and a chance to clear up some of the mess left behind.Chelsea had a great squad and that showed when he won the title with them. Last season was a clusterf*ck and Jose knows it.

Do you guys think Jose can do it? I'd suggest the problems run deeper than just the manager.
Watching Chelsea now,it seems the manager is the main problem.Long may it continue.
What is this great mess that you guys talk of that's going to take time for Jose to sort out? You've got one of the best goalkeepers, some great midfielders and a very good attack. Only your defence is pretty average. I really see no reason why you guys should languish down in mid-table obscurity whilst one of the, apparently, best managers takes months and months trying to figure out what to do.

The Board was put in a difficult position by Jose back then. Some stories are starting to elude to the facts back then, but none have been as clear cut as to report the facts, because maybe they don't have them. In short, we had him, he decided to go to Chelsea last minute. So Moyes was a panic appointment. LVG looked like the right man, but unfortunately wasn't. Chelsea had a great squad and that showed when he won the title with them. Last season was a clusterf*ck and Jose knows it.
In all fairness I think Conte took over a more cohesive and established group of players than Mourinho has. He has a jumbled up group of players from 4 different managers from the relics of saf to what was agreed before he came in.
What I'm pretty certain of isn't whether Mourinho can get you results, rather the way football has evolved, I do not think that the results will be delivered the way Utd fans want them to be.
451, hard to beat and football that is far far away from anything under saf or Conte I think.

I agree - but there are certainly shades of Chelsea under Jose last season with this current Utd form.
Agree we are not playing well, and it's up to Jose to get it right, but most United fans realise that there are a number of issues which is why we seem to be struggling. Look at Pep, he is not exactly bossing the prem is he.
Christ....all Swansea have to do is run around a bit and we'd be fecked. Not exactly a mobile 11 is it?
Needs to win with a line-up like that else he'll be crucified in the paper's tomorrow.
Still come on boys, then above us have dropped points so far so a good time for a result
