Click bait, they haven’t a clue really. Even if it does make some sort of sense. Flip Martian said:
Amorim has been the top choice for stats analysers for a while as his data overall is closest to ours under JK.
I’m as clueless as I was when Brendan and Klopp got appointed so I’m just going to trust that Edwards and Co get the best man in, like they did with Klopp.
This. Got to have trust in Edwards and Co.I’m as clueless as I was when Brendan and Klopp got appointed so I’m just going to trust that Edwards and Co get the best man in, like they did with Klopp.

I'm sure Gareth, as a competent manager, proven on the international stage, will end up somewhere. More chance of hell freezing over than him rocking up at Anfield though.
I'd agree tbh which is why I found the "news" amusing. I'll admit, the thought of Gareth at Liverpool did make me chuckle. I know it's TS but I do like listening to Simon Jordan sometimes - under the arrogance he does actually sometimes just talk sense. And he did this morning - saying how Liverpool probably knew early on Alonso wasn't available or quite ready just yet but letting the media warble away with their own narrative. Also interesting what he says about de Zerbi and and how character wise he's not actually a very likely fit at Liverpool.

I read Southgate was on the list the other day. Would be perfect for you I reckon.
Please no . Fortunately that seems like paper talk rather than anything else. Gutted to be missing out on Alonso but I feel like the papers / other fans were getting ahead of themselves with the potential of him signing with us. If i'm honest i've also not really heard of the Sporting Lisbon manager but I think we can trust the management team to make the right decision.

It’s not an even paper talk… a journalist asked Glen Johnson if he thought Southgate could work at Liverpool. Glen politely said maybe, and now some idiots think it’s something to wum about. It’s about as daft a suggestion as him going to United.
Southgate’s done absolutely nothing to show he’s good enough to get a job at any of the top clubs.
Stranger things have happened - look how Moyes ended up at Utd.
It's a strange thing in this country where the international manager is rarely seen as an elite that would fit with any of the top clubs. I do think though that whatever one does on the international stage has little meaning for running a club day to day.

Seriously Flip… how does Southgate fit in to any of the top clubs?
Despite having a fabulous pool of players to pick from, not only has he won nothing but England play turgid stuff most of the time.
He reminds me of Roy Hodgson… a lovely chap, but nowhere near a top level manager/coach.

Moyes - hum I think that may have been more that Fergusen didnt want anyone competent showing up his record. Southgate will end up abroad?
