Chelsea have not even played particularly well here, but by heck we’ve made them look good.

I can see Eddie getting the boot if we do not improve from this.

Good news is we've got a very winnable match next Saturday rofl.

We’ve seen it before many times this season where we look to have turned a corner, only to play terribly in our next game. We were great last weekend against Wolves, absolutely rubbish tonight. There’s no consistency whatsoever.

Me too, and as much as it pains me to say it, it wouldn't be surprising. I'm still rooting for him... 24/25 will surely be better.

By that logic, we're already past City in the cup then?

The FA may as well give us a bye.

Wow. What a goal.

Very poor. Didn’t deserve anything from that.

Are we still blaming injuries, or are we just st now?

The only thing we're consistently good at is being inconsistent.

I really thought that, when we got players back fit, we'd be better.

Tonight was as poor a display as I've seen for at least two weeks.

Season will be finished next weekend. Then we will need to see what changes are going to come for the next campaign. The team over-achieved last season, but the lack of depth and a busy treatment table has exposed the weaknesses in the squad. No need to panic but we will only tread water without bringing in new signings. How FFP is managed I’m not sure but I think it’s time for a few players to move on. Miggy, Wilson, Lascelles and maybe Tripps need to move on to make way for some new blood. I’m sure Amanda and co. are aware that it’s now time to move to the next stage in the project and I trust we will see changes in the next 4 months.

Could have been 7th, instead we're 10th.
Eddie looks both annoyed and worried.
Looking at the "team"
Dubs is left on his own too much and when the defense are there they're not helping.
Sharr was quiet tonight, Botman just a worry, Dan saved us off the line and with a few tackles (did anyone else tackle tonight?).
well impressed with Tino.
Willock not at his best, Bruno trying to hold the midfield together. Longstaff probably gets the prize for the most distance trotted while being totally ineffective.
Too much reliance on Gordon, Isak (brilliant goal) but other than that, hardly touched the ball. Crosses to him were regularly short and he made little attempt to get them. Almiron just marked out of the game early on.

So many times we simply let them take the ball from our feet or just gave them the ball. Sloppy.

Was hoping there might be a cup at the end of the season, even entered a comp to win tickets for the final, but after tonight I worry that the game against City may be an embarrassment.

If FFP, as we know it, is scrapped over the summer, then I don’t think Howe will be at the club much longer. I must admit, although he’s had extremely tough circumstances to deal with this season, I do find myself questioning how far he can take us. Playing Longstaff every game, with Miley on the bench, when we can all see how terrible he’s been for months, I just don’t get it.

It won't be scrapped just brought more in-line with UEFA FFP rules.

Chelsea were poor, and are very poor value for what they've spent. That said, we were really poor, gifted them opportunities and didn't apply any pressure on the ball to push them off our back line.
Another 2 injuries in the book, whether they'll be fit for Saturday, who knows?

I know frustrations are starting to pressure the management but could anyone else get a tune out of what we have and have had these last few months? We are being stifled by FFP, there's nothing that can be seemingly done in a hurry and our squad is paper thin.

That’s the truth of it.

We can’t expect Miley at 18 to be playing every game in the middle of the park, for example, and we’ve not got the options we would have with injuries etc.

We couldn’t get anyone in due to FFP & even if the new rules come in they seem clearly geared to keeping the status quo in any case. UEFAs rules aimed at keeping the traditional UEFA clubs happy at the top table- what a surprise.

Nail head hit.

I feel heartily sorry for Eddie. pressure is building on him all the time but he can only work with what he's got. He's continually playing the likes of Longstaff who has gone completely off the boil, brought Willock back and he's not yet back in the mindset of the team, has a defence that seems discordant, you wonder if there's some internal grievance there between Botman, Schar, Dubs? And up front we have Gordon playing his heart out, Miggy trying to find the talent he seems to have miss placed and Isak who yesterday just seemed out of touch or not included in any plan there may have been.

Tripps seems exhausted and stressed too, Big Dan needs to concentrate on defence, Tino was the class act of yesterdays match, Bruno is going to get pissed off before long trying to hold the midfield together and up front we need an Ollie Watkins who goes from strength to strength. There's a few players sat on the bench week after week who if they come on as a sub I just think "is that all we've got?"

Fully fit and "out of jail", a midfield of Big Joe, Bruno and Tonali could be devastating but I'm not sure Tonali actually wants to be at St James' Park.

Let this stat sink in. Eddie Howe is on course to conceding 60+ goals in a season for a sixth (out of seven) time in the Premier League.

Eddie operating beyond his station now. Want him gone. He stil ain't learning, not proactive and subs are ridiculous. Continues to plays Burn and Longstaff. Bruno will be gone, no champions league, mid table at best.

Post match shenanigans Eddie sounds like a politician. Might aswell be a Tory at this rate. Eddie Howe out. I'm done with it and the Eddie Howe crotch sniffers.

I refuse to remember the Ashley years cos I look ahead. That times gone and won't change owt. There have been 5 transfer windows since that fat sod left.

So who do you bring in to make this lot tick?
