When you've got tens of thousand of people, usually pissed, it's pretty awful what is said and done at times.
We had tens of thousands of pissed people at grounds all over the country this weekend. AFAIK the silence was observed at all but one.

It has happened at various stadiums, it all depends where Celtic are playing the weekend closest to the 11th.

I've made about three posts on this thread. It doesn't interest me. I and several others are here now because of the continued disgrace in some Celtic fans spoiling silences. I haven't mentioned how they're getting pumped off the diddy teams of Europe, how their manager is useless or how yet again they're struggling to impress in the SPL. Dignified silence is my approach.

Celtic fans could learn something about that.

Dignified silence is your approach? Since when?

You sound like the person who says, "I'm not a such and such, but........ You just can't help yourself.

Remembrance day suddenly means something to Rangers fans. It's purely used as we will get one up on you guys.

Just a few years ago Rangers didn't even wear poppies. Now there's all singing dislays to say look at us. Look what a proud club we are.

It's tedious and done for all the wrong reasons.

For everything Celtic fans have done that is wrong or tasteless, you could find as many for Rangers. However what's the point of having a needless tit for tat?

Struggling to impress? Celtic are 6 points clear in the premier league and walking it. They've scored 12 goals in the last 3 games and beat their main rivals 3-1, going on about 10 just the other week.

No other team in any of the top leagues in Scotland or England is winning their league as comfortably. If Celtic are failing to impress, what does that say about anyone else?

If the players perform, they will thump any team in Scotland by an absolute mile.

Europe has been a joke, nobody says otherwise. The manager is judged by that as the league is a walk in the park. It will be purely a formality for a long time to come. He has failed in Europe and should be replaced.

It doesn't interest you? lol. How many times did you talk about Celtic in the Rangers thread? Lol.

I'm sure we could all bet our houses you'll be back time and time again to prove otherwise as usual. How many times did you say that was your last post in the other thread? How many times did you say you hadn't posted in this thread, then it turned out you already had quite a few?

You're properly funny. As I've always said, you're completely blinkered and can't do anything but contradict yourself all the time.

Please don't ruin another thread with your childish tit for tat.

I don't know, why don't you go and find them all and write a big essay about it?

This thread has come alive because of one thing. Before that Rangers fans were largely absent. In fairness to Grandfondo he's said he wouldn't defend them, if the others would do the same instead of trying to bat it back to Ibrox I for one would bugger off again.

Why should they have to defend them just to get you off their case? Why can't you just leave the thread and bother someone else? It's an internet forum, nothing more and nothing less. As I've said before, there are ample threads for both sides to inhabit without cluttering this one up with the childish bickering all the time. Driver has it right, it's tit for tat. "Oooh, Celtic did this.. let's go on their thread and wind them up."

You say that this thread has come alive because of one thing. That thing, and don't deny it, is because your thread is now closed because despite constant warnings, many fans wouldn't listen or believe me. So now they come over here and delibertaely disrupt the opposition thread in yet another tiresome tit-for-tat act.

Your posting is more likely to get you a ban than th thread closed so either stop posting like you are or move on elsewhere because the rate you're going, you might not have the choice soon.

If you read what I posted, I've been clear that I'm not happy with it. Very few people are. The manager and club have both put out statements too.

You were the guy that made the big statement about the country seeing Celtic fans for what they are. Most people with common sense have seen the incident for what it is. It was a tiny minority. It's still not right.

You're talking to people on here, yet nobody has said they supported disturbing the minutes silence. Your trying to make an argument with people who aren't here and lumping them all in the same boat.

All through the Rangers thread, it was Celtic done this, Celtic done that blah blah blah. You appear to think that bad behaviour only happens at Celtic, and by everyone.

You won't bugger off. You said the same countless times in the other thread and just couldn't manage. Next time there's the chance for a dig, you'll be here, if you ever leave.

This is an open forum and needs to be kept civil. You can spout all your bile on Rangers forums to fit in.

I have no problem talking and people joining in. You just don't have the ability to be civil and mature.

Just a final point about silences at football games, most of them have been replaced with a minutes applause to drown out the idiots.

It's an embarrassment how often they are broken across the country.

No the haven't, it was Celtic that tried it a few years ago to drown out the fans who could not stay silent for a minute, you may be getting confused with the times when it's ex players etc, armistice silence is that, a silence for reflection etc

Bluenosewrx, you've quoted me and added your text in my box.

I was meaning all the other times when a minutes silence have been replaced with applause. All the other minutes silence couldn't be kept by fans for various reasons. Rather than tackling that problem, which you are never going to stop, they try and hide the bad noise with applause.

Only because it is still a silence can you hear the people voicing their opinions. It's wrong that they do it as most people the silence is showing respect to have nothing to do with the issues the people are protesting against.

I noticed this article earlier on and thought it was very accurate.

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/foot...

That's my biggest issue with the events. It's no longer about the purpose of the day, it's just a show and an effort to be better than anyone else. It's all morally wrong.

Watching the TV the other day, I totally forget what show it was, but someone innocently wasn't displaying a Poppy. The joke was by other people was you'll be in the Daily Mail for not having one on.

In the real world, not that many people wear a poppy. The ones that see more importance in the day are usually the older ones. I barely seen a youngster wearing one and all the events on the TV, the vast majority of people were elderly.

Yet at football games there is a pretence that it means so much, but I sadly don't believe it. It's a very modern thing to make such a deal about the day when only a few years ago they didn't.

They celebrate to a massive extent in a football stadium, then I bet the vast majority did absolutely nothing at the proper time.

I've been at events myself where people continued chatting at the start of an uncontenious minute's silence, but when people nearby tried to hush them they inadvertently added to the volume, and like a chain reaction even more people from the other side of the stadium began booing them all as a rebuke. All quite embarassing really until things settled down for the remaining 30 secs of the silence.

Can i ask, where was this hardliner approach when the Rangers thread was open. For months we had to "accept" the Celtic fans posting in the Rangers thread. However it seams when they float over her due to their thread being shut down due to the constant bickering between the fans, the same bickering will not be tolerated. Individuals will be banned. Perhaps if you had banned the Celtic trouble makers on the Rangers thread you would not have this problem. Its seems a bit one sided. Perhaps if i started a new Rangers thread and you policed it with the same iron-fist as here that could be a solution?

Yeah, except that only works if this thread took off right after the Rangers thread closed. And you know it didn't. And if you don't I counted about 10 posts by Rangers fans in the 2 months until Sunday's episode. One by me.

It took off a couple of days ago because once again a group of Celtic fans behaved in a despicable manner, disrupting a minute's silence and disrespecting the war dead, their club, their other fans and most of the country. It's a perfectly reasonable topic for discussion.

But my life isn't any the worse for having no Rangers thread and it certainly won't be worse for not being able to post in this one. So if your wee banhammer makes you feel all big and powerful go for it.

Not going to get into a long drawn out discussion on this. If you genuinely feel aggreived how the two threads have been / are being moderated, then report the thread and another mod will look at it. Truth is, these two threads cause mods more trouble than all the other football threads put together, why should we put up with it? We are volunteers FFS... it's now midnight and I'm typing out an essay having to explain myself to a stranger on the internet why he can't post on a bloody thread!! rolleyes

Thing is, the Rangers thread suffered from some awful religious-type abuse on there, a lot of what you didn't see because it was deleted soon after it was posted. People have been banned from it but within a few days, the ones that were left were bickering again and point scoring against each other and it just wasn't working. Hence after several warnings, the thread was closed.

Technodup - have no intention of using "my wee banhammer" on you at present although I could be persuaded if needed. And yes, the thread did catch fire because of what you said happened at the game but why come on here and stir it up? You can't do that and then blame me for shutting the Rangers thread.... your sole aim was to wind the Celtic fans up on their own thread.

BigSimonY - again, why would I ban you for querying how the thread is modded? I just got tired of every morning, waking up and finding Celtic fans reporting Rangers fans and Rangers fans reporting Celtic fans. It's utterly pathetic... even in the bad old days of the Liverpool thread, the complaints weren't as prolific as a normal day on these two threads.

Maybe the Rangers thread will open again one day but it won't be soon. Just move on, aren't there any other Rangers and Celtic forums where they don't care about you abusing one another?

Amazing rofl Don't recall much of that from yourself in the Rangers thread when there was numerous ceptic fans in there spouting st about Rangers.

Have to agree with the first sentence. The Rangers fans couldn't talk about anything because Celtic fans constantly made noises about Sevco etc etc. Yes, there may have been stuff deleted, but again that was posts from both sides. But referring to Celtic fans as "septic" fans isn't going to help your argument.

Mods do have a tough job, but sometimes they make it extremely hard for themselves when they are so inconsistent. But we do need them if we wish to continue to enjoy PistonHeads forum, so it's hard to criticise as it is, for the most part, a thankless task.

His inconsistency is astonishing though.

That's not the kind of person who should be moderating a football forum.
