On holiday in the highlands - forgot the match was on until halftime. Glad I didn't bother watching if we threw the lead away. Highlights will do. Roll on the new season.

Don't begrudge Villa here, makes no difference to us, great for them as another step towards Champions League.

Not much you can do about that.
You can not bring on 4 bloody subs at the same time thus completely ruining your momentum and control

Ha ha, my son (8) has just moved clubs, for a few reasons, but one is that the coach does this. 4 subs, concede 2 goals minimum every time.

Strange that it's been Villa with the time wasting in the last few mins.

Depressingly predicable that.

Mac has done that too many times this season but overall he's been a positive.
I nearly had an aneurysm when Nunez was offside.

Overall we can't complain as they had some great chances.

I hope at least we can put on a show next week, but it looks like everyone has clocked off already.

I thought we looked far better in the final third with Grav, Sobo and Darwin on the pitch. The mistake was taking off Endo and bringing on Jones as we have no-one else who can play at 6, and Curtis just isn't good enough wherever you stick him on the pitch.

I'm also starting to get very frustrated with Trent. Offers almost nothing defensively, isn't doing enough for the attack and spoils Mac Allister's game into the bargain. We looked a far better team when he was out and Bradley played, at both ends of the pitch.

Plenty for the new manager to think about.

There's always a silver lining. Fingers crossed Villa get the last CL spot.

Did feel like the commentators completely wrote us off as an attacking entity after their third goal went in.

2 complete sitters missed.
2 howlers that led to goals
A massive defection
Atleast 4 very close offside decisions.
Both keepers made atleast one great save too.

Was entertaining but we do feel very Spursy recently, even I'd we'd got 3 goals ahead I wouldn't call it a banker.

Always when we play him out of position at the 6.

Perhaps if we were a bit sharper with our passing it wouldn't happen quite so often. We look terribly labored at times.

Decent finish though. smile

He'd find a way to be offside somehow.

There is a player in there somewhere if he can sort his head out.

Yes, but their keeper was lying on the ground every time he got the ball and there was the player who came back onto the pitch in the corner when 'injured'. They had all the momentum at that point - maybe they were scared of losing 4-3? Fantastic late save by Ali though ...

Although an entertaining game in many ways, I found our repetitive errors quite boring as we've seen them time and time again this season.

The repetitive errors is one thing I hope the new manager is good at sorting out. It's perhaps one of my two major gripes with Klopp. When we've gone through bad spells, it's the seemingly repetitive nature of it constantly occuring, with seemingly no coaching on the training pitch to iron out issues. If players are constantly making the SAME mistakes, fans will question what is actially being worked on in training. Nunez's offside runs can 100% be corrected through simple, effective coaching. Trent working on better, smarter positioning defensively and thinking ahead rather than ball-watching, Mac not getting caught in possession continously, Alisson eliminating playing a short pass along the backline when the opposition are hunting near the 6 yard box...

It happens too often for it to be a coincidence and for me, whiffs of a lack of proper coaching.

The other gripe is the type of substitions whilst we are winning. It feels more like well these guys didn't start so let's give them a game, rather than making tactical subs to stem their runs through the middle. protect the lead and see out the game. At this point of the season, with nothing to play for, possibly forgivable but Klopp has previous - of which he has plenty; the 4-3 against Bournemouth around 5 years ago being one that really pissed me off. And it's not just the subs he does when we are winning; we were losing to Everton a few weeks back and our attack had been sh!te all game and he goes and brings on two defenders!? WTF.

Anyway, no one is perfect and despite the above, he absolutely deserves a fantastic send off next game and his legend status is secured.

Have seen quite a few JK retrospectives popping up in the last few days.

One thing that stands out to me - Firmino was seriously under rated. Some of his link up play was off the charts.

And I concur with the comment about Bradley. There has been a lot of praise for Trent in the inverted film back role but when we had two full backs bombing up and down the pitch we were a better side overall.
