At 3-1 and with nearly 40mins of play time left I was rubbing my hands with glee and looking at my 4-1 and 5-1 bets as a sure thing - could not believe we couldn't put at least one more past them with that second half dominance once we changed our defensive midfielders.
Bissouma and Sarr are starting to get a real worry - completely ineffective in their respective roles yet again.

I don't think it was a red either, but if you are aiming for a bit more consistency in the game, we have had 2 reds for challenges similar this season, so he should have gone. The problem is in reviewing the PGMOL have probably looked at some of the reds earlier in the season and thought they were harsh, and have no decided to tweak the messaging, but that doesn't make a level playing field and the playing field is over the course of a season to make everything fair. They really are not fit for purpose.
I'm not sure whether the overall standard of reffing has ever been worse??272BHP said:

Saar I'm confused about, he's had a couple of poor games, this being one of them but apart from those, I think he's mostly been very decent for his debut season with us.Bissouma and Sarr are starting to get a real worry - completely ineffective in their respective roles yet again.
Bissouma however I 100% agree on, he's been mostly very poor, especially after the new year.
Teams are setting up against Spurs in a different way now, aside from the obvious wide counter-attack tactic that teams will try and spring, it is also obvious that the oppo are more compact out of possession. Watching the last couple of games it's been clear that what was effective for Spurs in the first half isn't as effective now, which I *think* is why players like Sarr have started to struggle a bit.
Bissouma has been off for a while, he's practically assisted 3 or 4 oppo goals this season. I personally think Bentancur is a better option and we should use Lo Celso more as well.
What was really positive against Forest was that Ange made changes at half-time, in the West Ham game he waited too long, but I'm feeling less confident against better teams as we are conceding too much possession and poor goals versus earlier this season.

So what you are saying is that we've been found out.
Also please don't mention Lo Celso, he's been here 5 years and only just managed his 100th appearance in a Spurs shirt last week. We' might use him more if he didn't spend most of his time on the physio bench for us, although somehow, he always manages to get fit in time to play for his country.
He's taking us for mugs, the sooner he gets moved on, the better.

Standard MO for Levy, GLC is the new Coco.
Bissouma hasn't been right since he came back from AFCON. Bissouma and Sarr give us more energy in the middle than Bentancur but it means that we rely too much on Madison. Teams of late have been happy to sacrifice the ball out wide and double up on Maddison and basically kick him up in the air
It's why he keeps dropping deep for the ball. However the real issue is that we aren't capitalising on all the wide ball we have. Delivery is too slow and not inclusive. Werner for example, makes great runs to get into space but then always wants a touch. The ball needs to go into the box first time. Otherwise even one extra touch is enough for the keeper to set himself and the defenders to get in position and anticipate an interception. We're thinking too much, trying to pick a pass rather than playing on instinct. We're too easy to defend against, which is why teams are happy to give up possession, sit narrow and flood the box.

I think you're missing the bigger picture. Whilst GLC hasn't done much on the pitch, what he does off field deserves recognition. He has single handedly kept the North London physio industry in business for years. When he gets shipped off this summer to Italy there will be tears shed from said physio's.

I do wonder with Bissouma whether the malaria he contracted during AFCON has anything to do with it. Apparently breathing can be affected up to a year later. I'm sure he's been signed off as fit or whatever by club doctors but it just seems too much of a coincidence for it to not be that!Bissouma however I 100% agree on, he's been mostly very poor, especially after the new year.

I remember a couple of seasons ago when he played for Brighton and they played us at the Lane he absolutely ran the show and was immense for 90 minutes.

Bissouma, Caicedo and Gross versus Bentancur and PEHI want that player.
