Given the equal opportunity, previously robbed from them by a cheating, tax dodging bunch of dignified individuals, no reason why Hearts, Hibs, Motherwell, Aberdeen can't grow a great amount when they have the benefits coming second in the league will give them (huge assumtpion that Celtic will win, nobody would be as daft as to expect that before the league has started....)

I can't agree with all the celebration over this. Don't get me wrong, I love to see the Huns get a pasting, but only on the pitch.
I still think it's bad for the SPL if there's no Rangers competing with Celtic.
Seems bad form to me, but then again, I'm not a bitter a twisted Jock! I still think it's bad for the SPL if there's no Rangers competing with Celtic.
its a great thing, a perfect opportunity to revitalise the SPL, which has been slowly dying due to the fact that its been mostly run for the benefit of two clubs (11-1 voting rules and the top 2 in the league getting 33% of the prize money for example)
if rangers are liquidated then it gives clubs a chance to change the voting rules to something more democratic, change the prize money and tv income to something more fair, so that all clubs in the league can improve and maybe someone other than the old firm could win the league. after all thats the point of football isnt it? a competition between a number of clubs to be crowned champions.
and another thing, why is the media focus on "poor rangers, a scottish institution, how did it get to this, scottish football needs them" instead of, "cheating tax dodging rangers, how could they cheat the taxpayer and the league for so long"
remember, nobody else brought this on them, they did it all themselves....

Lots of intelligent viewpoints from fans:

""It is devastating and it leaves us with more questions than answers. I wonder what the trigger was? People want to know what it means."
Always surprises me that people think football clubs have a divine right to exist and that it would be incomprehensible for one to be wiped away for ever. It's as if football clubs should be immune from extinction or the fans are somehow owed the right to continue to have the club to follow.
I don't give a st for the repercussions re. fans, the league, or some other intangible greater good. Like any business going under under similar circumstances good riddance I think, you reap what you sow.

There is heated debate with some of the guys in the office about this, but one of the girls just stopped them in their tracks by joining the 'glad they're gone' side due to the fact that she can get the underground whenever she wants at the weekend now with no fear of being surrounded by footy animals or the usual of not even being allowed into the station as it's closed for the supporters.
Stopped them arguing for a while anyway.

Of course, all of this is based on the supposition that they will lose the court case with HMRC. If they win, their debt is back to being manageable and no need for administration.
But the damage is done for the season and that will have a knock on affect financially for seasons to come. Plus who wants to sponsor a team always on the brink? It's a total sham by Whyte!
He is going to come out of this owning 100% of rangers!
Debt free assured by his mate who is the administrator! (conflict of interest of the highest order)
He hasn't paid for the paye or tax on the takeover and had no intention of doing this!!!!!
All titles won during the non payment of tax should be voided!
