N'Zogbia will never go to you. He was heading for one of the top 6 clubs in January, but generously stayed with us to help us fight relegation. He's a class player, best we've had in a while. £15m at least (half that if we go down!)

If you watch the McCarthy showered in champagne on BBC Sport, you see Elokobi almost makes a slip of the tongue, micks face is priceless.

According to rumors we're after players Such as Carlos Vela, Konchesky and even Tom Huddlestone!

But all we have to show for it is a keeper from Swansea.. Think Hennesey is good enough in all honesty..

MM has been after a couple of defenders as well. Hopefully Blouse will see sense and come down on the price they're after. Hennessey is plenty good enough but still needs competition and good quality cover IMO.

I was hearing Upson/Woodgate.. yikes

We do need a lot more quality, or i can see us struggling again!

Definately. Woodgate could be a decent shout if we can get him on a pay as you play deal, Upson just isn't good enough.

Roger Johnson signed on a 4 year deal!

Just what we needed, now just bring in another defender Mick and I think we'll be ok!

I really like the direction the club is going at the moment, generating profits, improving the training complex and expanding the stadium. Not to mention playing hardball over transfers and the silly valuations that are asked.

Another defender or two and I think we will have a decent season as long as we keep our players fit smile

Talking of playing hardball on transfers

local paper said:
Wolves’ hardball approach on transfers has been rewarded after the club secured top signings Roger Johnson and Jamie O’Hara on cut-price deals, it has emerged.

The club paid just over £4m to Birmingham for Johnson for a flat fee with no add-ons.

That figure is nowhere near the £7m ‘confirmed’ by Blues at the time, or the £6.4m that was widely quoted in the days after the deal was completed.

Midfielder O’Hara cost them £3.5m, well below the £5m reported when he signed from Tottenham.

Reports suggested Blues had initially wanted staggering £14m for Johnson before dropping their price to £10m then £9m.

yikes Those are some serious savings.

Still need a couple more IMO.

Johnson straight in as captain then apparently.

Looks like we haven't really lost anyone either, although the squad DOES need trimming back to make funds for new players. Fletcher has looked pretty damn good in pre-season and I'm hoping he can carry it into the season!

Bring on Blackburn! So glad the season is starting shortly.

Prediction for the season: Mid table - comfortable survival.

Fletcher is a cracking player, and considering there are weaker teams around you who've not signed decent players (Blackburn) and teams who've lost their stars (the mags) I think you'll do well this season.

Wigan have lost players too, Fulham's average age is slowly getting to the OAP stage..

Feeling quietly confident actually.

O/T how long you back for mate?

Supposed to be home till the 2nd of November but it could be as early as mid October.

Wigan always look like a team that will struggle but seem to just hang on. Without n'zog, that could change

Woop woop, (nearly) top of the league hehe

Happy to beat one of our bogey teams and also good to see us coming back from 1 down and weathering a bit of a storm by the sound of it.

Just to keep us in the same position in the forum as in the table tonight!

Not a bad display against a bogey team, bring on Fulham and the Villa.
