We are top of the league!

biggrinbiggrin

Really impressed with the football we've played against Fulham, and Johnson looks like he's going to be a cracking buy. Ward has had a really good game too, it's also nice to see Doyle on the score sheet.

Ward excellent again. The first half drifted a bit but the second was complete dominance for us. Very happy with that.

Even if we lose to vile next week, I'll still be happy with the start we have had.

Tempted to make the trip to Northampton Tuesday to see if Hammil,Kights,Batth etc get a start. A good run in the pointless cup would be a good morale booster I think, and as Birmingham have proven, Europe isn't impossible!

Was tempted myself as Northampton ain't too far from me but not sure about work yet, may just roll up on the night and sit with the cobblers.

Momentarily top of the league, brilliant!! Perfect start and I hope we can keep the momentum up.

Next time out at the Villa will be a challenge, but I think we're up to it. Live on Sky for the first time this season too!

I was going to go, but apparently there's bugger all parking around there and as it turns out, I couldn't have made it now anyway. But enjoy! Oh and Batth won't be playing as he's on loan at Sheff Weds till January wink but there's obviously a good chance the second string will get a chance.

Comfortable win at Northampton in the end it seems, wouldn't mind a little run as I don't think many teams care about it.

Gutted Blake is injured as I think Mccarthy doesn't give him enough credit and deserves more of a run in the league. Predictions for Villa away?

I think we'll lose 2-1.

Yep, nice to see us actually winning s Carling Cup fixture for s change.

I quite fancy us at the vile tbh. I'm going for a cheeky 2-2 to keep our Champions League challenge on track wink

Interesting game. The first half was a bit disjointed with chances at both ends but neither team really looking like scoring. Villa came out in the second half and absolutely battered us, Merlin obviously made the changes to stem the tide and it worked. We looked reasonably comfortable and may even have won it at the end.

I think Villa will probably feel they should have won but for all their dominance for 1/2 hour or so in the second half they didn't create many chances.

Our front 2 were quiet as were Jarvis and Hunt but another solid game from the rest of midfield and defence. Ward excellent again, Elokobi still looks limited at this level.

Still top though, I still reckon we need more goals to cement our champions league challenge smile
Wolves ay we!

Agreed, although I said we'd lose so will happily take the draw wink

Spurs at home next, and like last season, can see us causing them a lot of problems. Millwall at home too in the cup, so that should give us another chance of progressing to the next stage. It's all looking rather rosy at the moment.

As much as I'd love it to last, sadly it won't wink

Can see us getting something out of Spurs, then we have QPR at home too, who I can see us beating comfortably as their defence seems a bit st.

Can anyone see us bringing anyone else in before the window shuts? I can't now.

Apparently we're heavily linked with James Mcfadden on a free - which could be a half decent signing actually.

Would be a decent addition to the squad IMO, really liking that we kept all of our best players through the transfer window as well.

Kightly is starting then with Jarvis on the bench, same team otherwise - will be interesting to see how he takes to the prem, especially as he hasn't really had a decent chance yet. Personally I'd rather have played Foley on the right as he's more tried and tested and is pretty good on the ball IMO.

I'm a tad optimistic about this game, morale around Spurs has to be pretty bleak at the moment, the fact Modric is still in the team probably isn't helping that.

To be honest I'd be happy with a draw, but won't be too disappointed if we lose (as long as we don't roll over) considering the start we've had.
