bks innit. I read Adidas were going nuts as they have sponsored England players swanking round in Nike England casuals.

erm...the men in Orange?

Italy are pants, there's no pace in that team. I wouldn't be surprised if Costa Rica end up beating them.
hehe

And yet they beat a pacy England. Whodda thunk it?

I'm not sure fantastic is correct. decent is perhaps more apt.

And they either run hot or cold at the WC:

2010 - didnt get out the group stage
2002 - Last 16
1998 - QF
Nice selective quoting wink

1970 Runners-up
1974 Group Stage
1978 Fourth Place
1982 Champions
1986 Round of 16
1990 Third Place
1994 Runners-up
1998 Quarter Final
2002 Round of 16
2006 Champions
2010 Group Stage

Most on here would give their eye teeth for a national team record like that over the last 45 years.

Chile vs Spain should be a good one, Spain go out if they lose tonight.

Re: Italy - they have a record that, given the wealth and popularity of the sport here, England should have as well.
Instead we have endless delusions over world class players, people banging on about passion and pride rather than technical ability and intelligence and a record that places England exactly where it is: probable last 16 contenders (assuming we qualify in the first place).

Hope Chile win tonight!

Belgium will be happy with the Russians only managing a draw.

Looking forward to this match.

They are showing the attractive girls in the crowd again, some Father Ted stylee lovely lasses.

I have to confess I have never seen a really attractive girl in an England shirt over all the years I have been watching the world cup (since 1978) .. how come?

erm...me? I bet on Italy to win that game!

But you can see their breaks on the attack is slow, their defenders struggle to keep up with the strikers. What they do well is play a good possession game and had some success from set piece situations. I'm not convinced they'll beat Costa Rica on Friday but we'll see.

Not overly impressed with Holland so far. Australia are a gutsy team. As I say that, they scored but overall it hasn't been impressive except for Robben's finishing.

The pass was fantastic too.

The Dutch goal was not too shabby either.
