Who's Your Manager of the Season?
Discussion
Mark O' Silver.
Best player and talisman sold out from under him at the end of the summer window, no funds to replace, no signings in January, 2 key players out all the way to the AFCON final, has been beset by injuries, and they refuse to give up or drop anywhere near the relegation battle. Compare and contrast with press darlings Brentford and their sickening Sky-powered fawning over their star striker's return from disgrace. Where are they now.
Beaten Arsenal and Man U against the odds.
He's essentially getting a symphony out of a Dad's Army band.
Easy Manager of the Season.
But nobody cares because it's only Fulham, who have no right to be in amongst the glamour pusses in any case.
(Like the Murphy's, I'm not bitter )

Emery for me. Pep and Klopp have the finances and resources to compete at the top level. They are brilliant managers, but I'd expect them both to be where they are. Arteta has a good shout but again, they have the money and squad to be competing. I'm not so sure Arsenal will end up with any trophies this year regardless though. I think Emery is doing what Howe did last year. Overachieving with what they have. Villa should be doing well but to be above Spurs, Chelsea, Man U, etc. They're really going strong. Great to see clubs outside the big 6 breaking through.

Enzo Maresca - Leicester City (Championship)
First managerial job - top of league most of season with healthy points gap (likely to finish as Champions). Also, Quarter Finals of FA Cup.
Not bad for starters! C’mon the Foxes!!

If we’re talking Championship the answer is clearly Kieran McKenna… the highest ever points total of any newly promoted team ever in the second tier of English football and we’re only in February.

It should be Emery, but I'm very happy we got O'neill rather than Michael Beale
Most had Wolves pinned for relegation at the start of the season, with Gary taking over suddenly 3 days before the season started. Give us a few of the points back that VAR fingered out of us and we'd be even happier

I’m of course very biased, but surely you can’t look past Rob Edwards if he keeps us (Luton) up.
Not just for the actual keeping us up, but the way we have evolved and play, wonderful recruitment (although that’s not solely him, of course) and the way he conducts himself as a human being. He’s even good looking. I hope he’s got a tiny knob or something, there must be something wrong with him.
Outside of Luton, I’ve a lot of respect for the job Emery has done at Villa. To turn them from relegation candidates into fighting for the top four/six is quite something.

Currently, I think it should be Emery.
But then I think Howe should have won it last season. And he didn't. And there's a bit of "Emery is doing a Howe" sentiment here. So if Emery "only" gets 4th, why should he win it given Howe didn't?
So the person who will win it is whoever wins the league.

Well he did just win the manager of the year award, albeit not the season as it’s not over yet.
Assuming it was for 2023 then he did have a decent year, but even so I'd still be tempted to have given that to Emery. Taking Villa from a relegation place to European football last season and then to equal top by the end of the year is far more impressive for me than wining the Scottish PL with Celtic and 5th in the PL.
