The League 1 and 2 Thread
Discussion
Same as every matchday for the last three months: completely cheesed off that our dithering board cannot see that one win since September is not the way to preserve our League One status. Why we’ve still got that clown in charge is anyone’s guess - at any other club he’d have been shown the door weeks ago.

How we all feeling after this afternoons games?
ste! (Notts County by the way) We’ve gave away 4 penalties in the last 4 games. Let in a goal after 4 minutes, we come back and are leading 2-1. 2-2 by half time then loose 4-2.Our attacking players are great to watch, David McGoldrick is quality but our defence is rubbish, National League standard.

Meh.So there we are safely in the play-off zone ..... and in the past week we played bottom of the table whipping boys Sutton; who beat us, so as a result they moved off the bottom; to be replaced by FGR .... who we played today and could only manage a 1-1 draw. You'd typically expect 6 points from that; but came away with 1.
Meh

Perfectly put. Was at Wycombe v Bristol Rovers yesterday; Rovers having found some good form with two stoppage time winners over Xmas, Wycombe not winning in twelve.
So of course, Wycombe won despite having ten men for half an hour!
Decent game that took a while to liven up. Wycombe go one up before Josh Scowen gets a red for almost decapitating Sam Finley. The Chairboys then go three up before two more stoppage time Rovers goals set up a grand finale which saw Rovers hit the post in 90+10 mins.
A mad game to cover with six yellow cards from the 87th minute onwards, nine yellow and a red card overall.
And to cap it off, a fireworks display at the final whistle which went down quite well considering it had been hissing down for two hours prior to it.

We always lose at Wycombe, it's tradional. Also the case with Blackpool and Carlisle. So of course, Wycombe won despite having ten men for half an hour!

I'm looking forward to Norwich in the Cup on Saturday, I don't get to go to many games now as I live in East Anglia. We should give them a half decent game but I'd be surprised if we get anything out of it ultimately, especially with Wilson being out.

Perfectly put. Blues have sacked Rooney, it's obvious when you have hindsight!

Meanwhile we (Pompey) are doing what we always do after Christmas: bottling it. 2018 and 2020 top at Christmas, and we failed to get promotion either time. 2023 looks like being a repeat. Since Christmas we've drawn or lost against Bristol Rovers, Exeter and now Cheltenham. We're still top, but not for much longer. Our billionaire American owners show no inclination to make a couple of signings that might revitalise our season. Same old, same old.

What on earth is going on? A win, and two goals scored too - the play-offs are calling!!
A cheap rubber patch glued badly onto a perished old inner tube. Hasn’t generated much hope with me, I’m afraid. I won’t be happy til the bus wker is on the last National Express coach out of Exeter (hopefully sitting next to a single mum who’s baby decides to throw up all over his lap just past Taunton. )
Which idiot thought Tranmere Rovers v MK Dons and Deadpool FC v AFC Wimbledon would be a good idea to have on the same day? Having both old and new Womble types (who as I understand it don't like each other) travelling the same route till having to go either North or South on the M56/M53 interchange.
