I'm really struggling to see why Lallana came off for Balotelli - I thought he was looking fairly dangerous. Some very odd choices today - we're certainly not getting the rub of the green (Mata offside, the ball largely hitting De Gea when on other days it would be going in), but we're not making our own luck either.

You have to wonder whether a genuine striker would have taken any of Sterling's chances but that said, would they have got themselves into those positions? It's very frustrating.

Why is Sterling being used in the box? Tricky, yes. As well as lightweight and can't finish. Far better used as a winger. At least he will be when his final ball is better...

Much better this half, Sterling is far too light weight to play a central striking role.
