Pity we can't get RvP for a season - he hasn't lost it he just hates LvG. One thing Bren is good at is loving his players .... Sometimes unrequited however.
RVP is a class player and not exactly past it. Not sure if he would ever come to us but would yes, he would be a very good signing for a season or two

Stevie is finally allowed to say what he really thinks... well sort of.

About Sterling: "I'd love to be able to say what I want to say on it,". But then he does, by inference. And quite right too.

wonder if his Mum will be phoning in sick for him again today?? perhaps his agent does it for him

I hate phoning in sick, even when I am sick!

Raheem earns around £1.5 million a year, even on his measly £30k a week - he really is a complete joke and had been advised so badly.

Not sure about Henderson as captain but Raheem really should look at Hendo and Stevie and learn how to behave, when you are a privileged kid with a good future lined up, but it can go off the rails so easily

Agree with that. Not sure Hendo is strong captain material - but maybe its more about the kind of role model BR wants as skipper. Hendo seems to be a fairly quiet, modest "get on with trying to be a decent footballer" type. Maybe that's what BR wants his younger players to look at and follow.

Either that or he keeps all his coke sniffing and whoring out of the papers. laugh

Sometimes people rise to the challenge. There was a lot of concern when a petulant Beckham was picked as captain but he carried it off.

Henderson will be fighting to keep his place. Making him captain hopefully doesn't mean he starts regardless.

Mate of mine knows Hendo from his Sunderland days and described him as a proper pro. Trains goes home sees his family plays golf plays fifa sleeps and repeat.

Really nice guy it seems. Some people just wanna play footy and love the idea of being a pro. Hendo seems to be one of them, Just like Gerrard. Im glad he is captain. Id bet on Skrtel and Lucas next in line too ~(Provided Lucas stays)

I would say that Hendo' is too much of a nice guy to be captain and should left to concentrate on his football. I would prefer Skrtel I think. He is more of a leader figure and more likely to give someone a shouting at if needed (or a quiet chat..)

He's too busy wrestling opponents to the floor to be a leader. Guy needs a regular sending off, always seems to get away with it though......

Bet there is few games this season he does not start - the ones that he does not start are ones BR will be resting him.

He must feel like such a cock - awkward

Never seen someone so badly advised - worse thing is if he gets his move Ward will pocket a fortune
And who takes Wed/Thurs off but goes back in on a Fri - deffo wants to go out this weekend haha

Yep, that. He's captain - he'll start the majority of games and won't be fighting for his place unless he's spectacularly poor with the weight of being skipper on his shoulders. For my part, I hope he'll rise to the challenege, as someone said above. He's our skipper now and deserves our support. Good luck to the lad.

Yup, we will back him, he is our skipper. When he first came to the club, he looked awful, obviously he was young but looked like the weight of the badge or the shadow of Gerrard seemed to hold him back. He has come along way and is now captain. Well done to him, nice guy and hopefully will grow into a great leader.

Come on now chaps...I don't remember you all calling Lovren a cock for doing the same thing last season when you were trying to buy him?

The old "I was really ill and to prove it I will go back to work on FRIDAY" routine...

Never used that myself. cough.
