Sorry I know you did, I was agreeing with you in reply to your reply to the chap who said he isn't worth half that (12.5m) when they bought him for 15m You then mentioned a £100m player which I assumed to be pogba who I think is st

He didn't set the world on fire or even deserve a special mention in the press on almost any weekend so whilst he might have been OKish his revised value of plus £10m after one season including not saving Newcastle from the drop is ludicrous and Levy was right to give him a swerve.
11 goals and 5 assists in 38 games from the midfield of a st team in his first season in the PL. Id say he's one of the (very) few Newcastle players that could hold their heads high. if we sign this french lad for £10m and he ends the year with personal stats like that we'll all be waxing lyrical.

Quite why I laughed at the comment he is not worth half the 25m when he cost them 15m for Holland.if we sign this french lad for £10m and he ends the year with personal stats like that we'll all be waxing lyrical.
Also to add ste managers - be interesting to see what Klopp can do with him

Half his goals came in 2 games aginst Norwich and us, to be fair. He's a good player but for £25m I think we need better than a squad addition. Also, I could never work out what position is was supposed to be playing at Newcastle? Was he a wing-back? Wing-forward?
I thought he was CM, more attacking than defending?? TEKNOPUG said:

He seemed to play all over the place which makes his stats even better. You are right though he would be a squad addition for us as would the French guy. We need to improve the first 11.

So you're saying he's just like Suarez?!London424 said:
He was never mentioned by anyone as being any good last season at all! The fans slated him for tossing off games left right and centre and barely put in a performance in the second half of the season.
Football really has gone nuts.
So what do you think the reason both Poch and Klopp wanted to sign him ?? do you think maybe both have them have watched every 90 minutes of his games last year and both thought, this lad in a good team could really add something..?? Football really has gone nuts.

In funnier news, Liverpool have spent 235m over the last 5 seasons on players from Southampton, Newcastle, Sunderland and Villa
The amount of money they have wasted is frightening add all that to the 4th biggest wage bill in the league and in that time they've finished 8,6,2,7,8. m3sye said:

I think Poch looked at him and thought for a decent price he might be worth taking a roll of the dice on. For 25 mil...no chance.
With the stadium being built I don't think the club want to be splashing big money on squad players.
As for Klopp, no clue, you'll know better than I where he's likely to fit in, but from the outside you've got an awful lot of players competing for 4 starting spots in those forward areas.

And if Poch did want him (which has not been verified) I'd say that once told the price he likely agreed with Levy that he wasn't worth it.

Lamela has scored 7 in 76 - 30m
Soldado scored 7 in 52 - 26m
Paulinho - 6 in 45 - 17m
Dembele - 6 in 115 - 15m
Soldado is the only disaster there. Soldado scored 7 in 52 - 26m
Paulinho - 6 in 45 - 17m
Dembele - 6 in 115 - 15m

Lamela is still in the first team and had a good season last season.
Paulinho we got all our money back for.
and Dembele is fking awesome.
This is a good article. The building of the training ground and the recruitment of Paul Mitchell to find players to fit Poch's vision will pay us dividends in the long run.
