So after watching most of the tournament, teams that can comfortably beat England:

Spain
Germany
Italy
France
Croatia
Belgium

I can't think of any others right now, but I'm sure there's atleast 1 more.

England will need an awful lot of luck to get past the quarters.

Actually I think that we'd give all bar the top two a good game, before inevitably losing on penalties

One of the main reasons for Rooney to be so much more effective when he plays in midfield is that his first touch is under less scrutiny.
I agree with, he struggles to trap a bag of cement within 5m.

The problem with England is that they have 15 average players in the squad and so can't decide on a top 11 lineup. Even now, during the tournament, it's just swap and change.

Even the half decent teams in the tournament have 11 good players in the starting line-up, with 1-2 backups who know their roles on the subs bench, in case of injury or tiredness.

Are people really trying to say that a player who has played 11 senior games should be our saviour confused

Not a saviour. A player that can perform a role. England has this obsession with heroes and 'passion'. Football is about performing discrete tasks with the requisite skill and judgment. If a guy who has played 1 senior game has the best ability to beat a mean, he should be in the side when you need someone who can beat a man.

Why not....?

11 senior games for Utd., means he's played at a higher pro level than this England manager who's highest footballing achievement as a player was failing to make the first team while at 2nd Div Crystal Palace.....scratchchin

To be fair to Roy, he resisted the urge to select himself in the squad.

If Spain lose this they drop into our half of the draw.

So...
spain
italy
france
germany
england
possibly portugal

all in our half.

Well done roy for resting players.
This could have been the essiest ever path to a final.
Now it is the hardest ever.

good for wales - they could get to the final
Nuts.

I just don't want to go out in the next round.

I think we could do well against France.
It is the most glamorous game for us.

So about all this settled side and making changes.

An unchanged spain were just beaten by a Croatia that had 5 changes, including the loss of Modric.

What's your point? Spain are allowed to be beaten.
