I think the thing with Moyes is that he had shown a lot of managerial potential at PNE. We are Zola's first club and, to be frank, he hasn't really managed in my opinion.
To be fair to him he made one significant impact - giving Carlton Cole belief. It totally transformed him as a player. If he had come a season earlier when we still had Zamora who knows what could have been?! Certainly an excellent strikers coach.
Upson has just crumbled this season under Zola's management. There was always a reason Wenger never stuck with him and Zola wasn't strong enough to get him to up his game. Parker is Parker (always getting bloody booked ) and probably should have had the armband, but then again, this could have led to an even bigger capitulation of Upson's "form".
Overall, GZ is a nice chap, but I'd rather have a total manage us and finish 7th/8th (dreaming, I know) and a decent cup run than another season like this. I am surprised more papers haven't been sticking the knife in about how truly poor this season was. We only stayed up because there were 3 poorer teams. FFS, Wigan got humped 7-1 and 8-0 and still finished above us.
I'd like to see a new manager and hear less rubbish being spewed by G & S.

Christ, if the rumour mill is true it does not look good for us unless Avram Grant gets the post. Names I have heard linked to the post are Dave Jones (Cardiff City manager), Ian Holloway, Sam Allardyce and Gary Megson (WTF?!)
Also, am I being overly paranoid that Wenger might come in for Parker if Fabregas does head to Barcelona?

Dunno. Who are?I thought the people I sat around were too harsh on Cole when he missed the peno. Just watched it again on MOTD, Jesus what was that?!
Did I mention that I hate kevin davies? !
Hansen can shove it up his arse though, we dominated the match. BBC seem to be joining the rest of the noueveau anti-Hammers press the way they are reporting.

Good word.Anyone actually bother to go tonight? Like others, the league cup tie didn't attract me tonight but I can't believe it is 0-0 at half time!
I really hope this season isn't like the last, I don't want to stay up because there were three teams stter than us.

Stech was man of the match tonight
Were you there tonight? Was Stech playing It is games like this that put things in perspective. Wobbly start, two more nailed on defeats on the way but at least our biggest game of the season wasn't a tuesday night first round Carling Cup match!Sweet Jesus, I can honestly not think of any positives to take from that match. And, "well, it could have been 6..." is not a positive.
As disrespectful as it sounds considering they have only lost once compared with our three, I am glad for a 2nd season in a row we have poorer teams such as Blackpool in the Prem as we will probably just about manage to stay up. Can't believe the Stoke match is probably going to be a 6-pointer!

Yep, I think its time to place the old compensatory "relegation wager" to soften the blow.http://www.whufc.com/articles/20100901/25-man-squa...
