Ibe confirmed to Bournemouth for £15m.
A bit surprised he is off - I would have thought he is exactly the type of player that Klopp could mold into a star. He didn't have a great season last year but he certainly has potential. Was hoping he would go on and be the player that Sterling wasn't; physical, strong and scoring goals. I guess with Mane arriving, his chances would have been limited. £15m is a lot of money though and I hope he goes on to realize his potential.

Kinda came out of nowhere didn't it? He's young, he never really kicked on from the initial impact he made. Is Klopp building a transfer kitty ?

I saw that too, would be a shame to see him go. Hopefully we put a buy back option in again as I think he's got some potential.
Given an article I read yesterday which basically suggested LFC were starting to include buy backs in their sales, it will be interesting to see if they will with Ibe. Its a shame but he didn't really kick on when given chances last season.

I think there was training related issues. He seemed to fall out of favour with Kopp in the second half of the season.

£15M for someone who wasn't even making the bench sometimes last season.

Sold!

Well ultimately Klopp sees these players day and and day out. That's what counts. Shame - most of us were raving about Ibe a year ago.

I think this also fires a warning shot to the younger players. If you want to make it at Liverpool, you are going to have to really want it or your gone.

I've been reading the same thing and it's about time we did put buy backs in for potential stars when selling them for <5 million. However given the transfer fee is quite high with Ibe, I'd be quite surprised if we managed to negotiate a buy back in the deal.

Is the fee high for Ibe? He is only 20.

Yes I think so.. I am sure there will be a sell on clause of some % if he goes onto stardom...

Incidentally chaps, if any of you are avid readers of books about footy, or about footballers, and have some recommendations of good books to read, I started a thread in the books and literature section asking for recommendations if you fancy passing on any gen:

Nice to see Emre Can start for Germany tonight, played well albeit a bad result for him. Could be ready to step up this season.

The more I see of Kante, the more I want him for us. I really think we are crying out for a specialised DM (rather than yet another player who can cover various positions) and personally I'd spend big to get him. Him and Can infront of the defence would suit me fine!

I am surprised no big money offers have come in for him yet. Truly is a box to box player and someone we are missing. I haven't seen anything of Zielinksi but I'd imagine he'd be a very rough diamond that will need time. We certainly need energy in the middle plus experience and Kante definitely brings that.

Mirror said:
Incomings:

Sadio Mane (Southampton) £30million; Loris Karius (Mainz) £4.7million; Joel Matip (Schalke) free.

Total spend so far: £34.7million.

Outgoings:

Christian Benteke (Crystal Palace) £30million valuation; Jordon Ibe (Bournemouth) £15million bid accepted; Joe Allen (Swansea/Sevilla) £10million valuation; Luis Alberto (Sevilla) £7million valuation; Martin Skrtel (Fenerbahce) £5.5million bid accepted; Jerome Sinclair (Watford) £4million compensation agreed; Sergi Canos (Norwich) £2.5million bid accepted; Mario Balotelli (Sampdoria/Crotone) £7million valuation; Lucas (Besiktas) £10million valuation.

Projected total income: £91million.
So if the sales presumably go ahead at the prices quoted, that would mean possibly mean £56m surplus. Not a bad way of recycling the squad money, without using any of the TV money. Presumably that is being used to fund the stadium expansion?
