James Milner has retired from international duty.

Was he ever on duty?
Thank god for that. No more watching him dragging his knuckles up the wing, looking for the secret of fire.

Latest rumours from The Court of the BFS.

He won't be picking Rashford.

He is open to Terry coming back.....

Sorry haven't checked my calendar, is it the 1st of April?

Rashford is done for I'm afraid. Won't get a look in under Jose unless significant injuries.

In which case, Sam is right to not pick Rashford. I'd rather he pick people who are fit, playing and in form rather than those who aren't.

Rashford is a big prospect but unless he moves away from Man U. his international career will stall big time.

Whenever the sports pages have nothing much going on, then JT coming back is their fall back story. It's complete bks. England don't want him back and he wouldn't go back if they did.

It's a complete non starter on both sides.

Who was top of your wishlist BCM? I think BFS is a very interesting choice - certainly not the high profile 'glamour' option. Will be interesting to see how he goes.

I'm hopeful he'll go in about 6 games. The problem will be how much damage he does to the level of interest in the England team in the meantime. The level of enthusiasm for the national team has been dropping off a cliff since Woy's disastrous World Cup campaign and if we sink to a new low under The BFS and with the chances of talented English footballers actually getting a game (funnily enough see Rashford) the chances of us winning anything will be gone for yet another generation.

The BFS is a survivor, that's what he does. He makes teams survive. What we need in charge of the England team is a winner and The BFS isn't it.

However, I don't blame The BFS. Let's face it for any English manager it's the dream job. I blame the FA for for yet again screwing up the selection process completely by not taking time to actually work out what the team needs to win again and who would be the best person to do this. To even think that they were considering Glenda shows how desperate and at the same time how out of touch the FA is.

1. Interest in England fell off a cliff after the South Africa WC, Capello, not Roy. I haven't really given much of a fk since.
2. We lost to Iceland!! Do people not understand this......WE LOST TO ICELAND! Can someone tell me where this new low that BFS will take us to could possibly be.
3. We won't win anything for a generation. Most sensible people have realised this. What we expect is not to be humiliated, and not to lose to Iceland. To not concede off long throws you know are coming. Sam will have us will drilled and hard to beat. We will lose, because too many other teams are just better than us, but they will have to work hard for their win. We won't be losing 4-1 to the German youth side like we did in 2010.!!!!

^^^Agree.

We have some delusional England supporters, blinded by the 'premier league' and all the glitz and glamour that goes with it.

England are a bang average team, with no world class players, we flatter to deceive in qualifying and then the true England show up in tournaments and we go out with a whimper with no-one taking responsibility.

People moan at BFS but what are the options? Who are we going to attract to become our manager? The options are slim to none and BFS is a good fit. We will never win anything not because of BFS, but because of other issues within the game in this country.
As Twig says at least we will be organised, have a plan, play to our strengths which is 100% more than Roy could ever manage. BFS played good football at Bolton, and West Ham. He just gets given the tag of someone who avoids relegation because he is able to get a team to play better, and play to their strengths.

And after several years Woy didn't have a clue what those strengths may be. Just kept playing pin the tail on the donkey in the vain hope he might get something right eventually IMO.

Must say not too much to worry about with the first squad selection. Interesting with regard to Barkley. If my failing senile memory is anything to go by he didn't actually play in France, did he? Maybe he had a massive row with some of the other members of the squad and/or playing staff and is being given a cooling off period? Just a thought.

Jagielka - just no.

No Wheelchair thank fk.

If Carroll had been named, my concerns would really have kicked in. Lets see how this works out in the hands of The BFS. I'm certainly likely to be unconvinced after just one game anyway. It will be interesting to see what the attendance will be like too.

Carroll and Kane are injured. I think he'd take Carroll to be honest and it would probably work. He's a proper nuisance in the right setup. He's the type of player we could've used against the ultra defensive, he bullies people aerially.

Surprised he didn't pick Defoe to be honest. I'm not sure he'll be sold on trusting Stones in the starting XI until he shows absolute competence under Guardiola. I suspect that will come soon.

Don't know if it's been mentioned before but the success of the GB Women's Hockey Team, and the way they were managed, to me really highlights what a bunch of self satisfied, ignorant wkers sit at the top of England team management.
