Im more concerned about the prospect of losing a great generation of players, in the form of McCarthy, Stones and Coleman. I guess it's the way football goes now, if Liverpool have to buckle then what chance do we have of hanging onto our talented youngsters? What is happening to Villa is even worse, the Delph farce underlines just how far standards have slipped, it's not the game I grew up following and with every season my interest wanes just a little bit more.

The difference between Sterling and the 3 players above is, they are not looking for a move. McCarthys agent is stirring it up a bit in a bid to get his player a improved contract, he will be here in September I`m sure of it.The only one looking for a move WAS Mirallas, now its more likely he will sign a new contract before the end of the year.
No mate the only way we will sell any of the above is if Blue Bill and the board decide to.The down side to this is the lack of funds for any more big money arrivals.God knows were all the money goes, I have my own theories, but for now I, like most Blues will be happy to keep the current squad together.

But Tony, there have been NO big money arrivals, like you I wonder where all this TV money goes. I did hope we would sign another striker (Kone is not the answer), a decent keeper and another CB, but as you say, if we can keep the current crop together then I will settle for that. The only one looking for a move WAS Mirallas, now its more likely he will sign a new contract before the end of the year.

I know how you feel my interest is slowly diminishing every season. There is no loyalty and the agents are just raping the game. It's the top four or five in the PL stuff every other club. I might even cancel Sky Sports.hilly10 said:

I watch more rugby, golf and motor sport than footie these days! I am hearing that Chelsea are serious about Stones, so it may be just a mater of time now, if we get big money I won't be too concerned as I'm not convinced that he is the next John Terry, the real tragedy will be if Bobby doesn't get the money to spend on replacements (after Barnsley get their slice).wow our fixture list reads like a big struggle first 10 games or so.....

Looks like RM means business he is not going to let Stones go, just wonder though if Chelski up the offer to 30m. We will see
I just hope that we are not simply trying to push the price up, but I fear that if Chelsea offer the right money he will be gone. If McCarthy goes I will really start to worry, but I hope RM has matters in hand, but our lack of activity, given the size of our squad is a concern, Bobby's making lots of noises about our youth coming through, which is great but I'd like to see us sign a solid CB and a proven striker. The next week may well define our season. If history is anything to go by then Bobby won't get all the money to re-invest and in any event a slice of whatever we get will go to Barnsley. I understand that a good offer for a player who is still only a prospect is difficult to turn down, but it will affect our start to the season if he goes.
Gone a bit quiet on the Stones front. £32m and he's a gonna in my opinion.
I'm worried about this season, we look like we lack mobility and creativity in midfield. If Rom gets injured/suspended we can't score.
Squad isn't deep enough. We have spent £4.3m in the richest period of TV rights ever. It's a disgrace really.
- Robles, Osman, Gibson, Kone all not good enough
- Barry legs have gone.
- If stones goes there's no pace at the back centrally.
- Meirellas looks completely disinterested

I reckon Miralles will be gone but that we will hang onto Stones and McCarthy until January at least. I think Osman and Barry will get limited game time and that if Gibson can stay fit he will be an asset, Kone should be gone and Robles will probably stay for another season. I can see us signing Lennon and a decent playmaker (Praet) with a striker on loan. I am gong for a lie down now.
