I admire your optimism, RichB but I am afraid I have to counteract it with some pessimism:
Our England capped players such as Upson, Cole and Green can be very hit and miss. Did Hitzelsperger play at this world cup? Do Gold and Sullivan consistently undermine the good work they do in the shadows with unnecessary public outbursts?
Although I do agree on the stadium, I think the time is right to move.
I just don't want to be playing Milwall next season, which I think is likely to happen.

Well, I think it is high time that Grant left. I was optimistic when he was announced as our manager thinking, "well he did get Chelsea to the Champs League final, he must know what he's doing." But now, having looked at his past career and realising that he is a personal friend of Abramovich, it is obvious he was installed as a puppet at Stamford Bridge. Anyone could probaly have got that team to the Champs League final.
He wasn't any use at Pompey and he isn't going to be any use to us. I guess the wker is not going to quit so we have to pay him a load of compensation.
Whilst I don't advocate the return of Curbs or Pardew, we definitely need a manager who can build a good team spirit as I think we already have a good(ish) squad. The press have their knives drawn, a few papers over the weekend mentioning that Obinna and Piquionne aren't up to the Premier League but I beg to differ.
So lets get Avram out, someone decent in and start climbing the table. COYI!

I agree with you, Hammer67.
It may have been their 3rd reserve team but the spirit we showed in that match was almost inspiring. Spector really did operate well, defensively and going forward - the brace was the icing on the cake.
Whilst lots don't like Boa Morte, he does regularly put a shift in. Looks like he is getting a bit slow now, we need to replace him in January.
Wolves winning and Wigan drawing has really stuffed us again. It's a psychological thing but having played the most games and having won the least points really gets to me.
I'm not sure what January will bring, but let's hope we shift the deadwood and bring in some fresh talent but not the same old crap.

I'm being worked mercilessly at the moment by my boss so couldn't make it to the match but it would be so good if we manage to get to the final - I'd love a trip to Wembley!
I nabbed this from the Liverpool thread, makes for some pleasing reading:

^^^What's happened here?!^^^
I didn't say it, but yeah it is a shame to Behrami has gone.
On another note, I really feel I need to vent my spleen regarding Messrs Gold and Sullivan. How can two men take a team who, at the time, where only going down and down and turn them in to a stable Premiership club and then do the polar opposite with us? I am not saying that we were a rock in any way, shape or form before their arrival but the way they have handled this AG situation is beyond the pale and they aren't showing any of the nous they showed in their ownership of Birmingham.
I for one am tempted to vote with my feet and not renew my season ticket if we stay up this season. If we got relegated I probably would, out of some daft obligation I feel I have to the club, however! Try and logically explain that one.
I'm really pissed off with the state of the Hammers at the moment. Too many players on the payroll that shouldn't be whether they be too fat, too injured, too much (Bridge at 90k a week, fk off!) or too crap.
