Well I was disappointed with our first half performance against the borough, Wickham and Oste had poor games (don't rate O'shea at all personally) but chuffed to see Fraizer back and even more pleased that he got a goal. He'll be like a new signing for us, I'm confident he can bag 10 goals this season
McClean was my man of the match yesterday, fail to see how Robson got it when he gifted us our goal, from which McClean got the assist.
We could have done without the replay but hopefully we'll start that game the way we started the second half.

Very pleased with that, always liked Fraizer and what a game he had today!
3-0 against a good Norwich side is impressive and I agree we made them look very ordinary. Sess' touch of skill in the build up to his goal is why I love him, our little creative genius
I fancy 6 points from Stoke and Arsenal, our goal difference shows just how good we're playing more so than points alone

ste game and Huth shouldn't have been sent off but 3 points at Stoke is a good result so I'm happy. Glad McLean got himself a goal as I think he's been pivotal in the turnaround under Saint Martin
Whilst Arsenal battered Blackburn today I still fancy our chances against them.
+9 goal difference is superb too!

Niall Quinn's gone.
Genuinely gutted as Sir Niall is a great guy who saved this club. Understand that he's wanting to concentrate on his family and businesses in Ireland which is fair enough, he's left us stronger and more stable than we've ever been. If it wasn't for him we'd be wallowing in the lower leagues IMO.Cheers Quinny!

That's floating about the tinternet to rename the stand.
The new childrens part of the hospital is named after him as it was the funds from his testimonial that helped fund it.

Lets not turn this thread into a bickering contest.
First half Sunderland dominated
Second half Newcastle dominated
Going down to ten men didn't help us at all - we struggled to keep possession and had no outlet to alleviate any pressure the Mags were piling up on us. We defended well though, and Mignolet did well to guess the right way even if it was a poor penalty (surprisingly) from Ba.
Shola was bound to score, he's kept in cryogenic sleep for just these occasions
The Mags have edged it this season, hopefully with a pre-season under MON we can come back stronger and 6 points off them next season.
We just need to concentrate on the cup now, a bit of silverware, however unlikely it may be, will take the bitterness away.

Any predictions on this afternoons game?
I'm guessing there will be a few liverpool supporters commenting in this thread as theirs has been closed I think lol.
Hopefully they'll keep it civil, I don't want my most successful thread turning into a slagging match.I'm guessing there will be a few liverpool supporters commenting in this thread as theirs has been closed I think lol.
I fancy 1-0 Sunderland but we're missing key players so who knows what will happen!

I have Suarez as captain in my fantasy team this week , a 5-4 would be nicer
do you feel you can catch them ?
Realistically no, I think we can move up to 8th at best which will be an improvement over last season so it is progress. Whilst Bruce was in charge and with the loss of Gyan and Welbeck since the end of last season, we had a bad run but MON has steadied the ship and worked his magic which has yielded better results. do you feel you can catch them ?
Personally I'd like us to concentrate on the cup. Still some good teams in it, not least you Spuds and Everton who we've got next, but we've been waiting almost 40 years for silverware so a nice FA cup would be good

So as im now homeless for the forseeable future i will be roaming between the other threads as and when liverpool play the team.
What are sunderland fans opinions about the match tomorrow? Can you see an easy win or a hard game?
I personally, as much as it pains me to say, think we will lose tomorrow. Just cannot see us scoring. Hopefully im wrong though!

As OP I welcome the Liverpool fans to this thread for tomorrow's game.
I think we can win this, but Johnson is out injured and Rose might start and I'm a bit unsure of him. Would like to see Fletcher grab another goal, he looked good against Swansea.
Last season we were difficult to beat at home and I hope that trend continues. I'm going to say 2-0 Sunderland, with Fletcher and Sess scoring.
