I guess we'll see in the summer but there's a lot of deadwood imo
Interesting graphic, that. I wonder where those numbers come from? All squads? First team squad only? And how big are the 1st team squads there?
Pretty sure that includes the whole squad. From what I've read several players were coming to the ends of their contracts anyway, and a couple of deals had already been done before Klopp took over, so the figures for his first season are a bit skewed.

They are yes, but it does show every year after a HUGE amount of movement still, so to expect 3/4 only in summer is way off......

Out of our squad I see 6-8 going

Squad yes. I suspect we'll only get 3 that go straight into the first team, with the current first teamers being pushed down the pecking order.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens between Allen, Can and Grujic. All have the same sort of role. I'd like to see Allen start ahead of Can at the moment and I don't think Can has really improved that much since we bought him.

Weird as I see huge improvement from him, stil naive but I see the basis of what will be a ver very good player there... out of them all in the middle he would be the last I would move out....
I would expect at least 4 to go in the 1st team come summer, FW-AM/WINGER(someone pacey who can score goals/CM/CD - not sure where he will go with GK, does that contract mean toal faith or are they protecting value and will go out and get some real competition for him, cant decide there...

Blaming Mignolet for the first goal is bonkers in all fairness. I for one will be shouting for Leicester now.

Reminded me of Torres vs Blackburn which seems a long time ago now. Unstoppable but should have been cut off before it got to that position, but these things happen. All these defensive errors are magnified by our inability to score goals. We made just as many if not more mistakes 2 years ago but were scoring 2 or 3 every game.

Correct, before they scored we were controlling it and could quite easily have been 2 up... we just make the wrong decisions so often in the final 3rd is scary... or any control we had prior to the last 3rd just suddenly vanishes when they see the area.....

The way I saw it is a moment of genius changed the game.

We have many issues that can't be ignored and I am not trying to make excuses but it's all fine margins.

After training alone for 10 consecutive days Daniel Sturridge is due to return to full training for the first time in 2 months today. #lfc

Keep him fit for the final for me...
We have to go full throttle for the cups, forget the league, pointless now, keep him fit for Europe and any final, bar that wrap him up in cotton wool

I know right? Pure trolling to suggest Mignolet was to blame for that.

Vardy is so dangerous, fast and confident, what a year for him.

He has to go to the Euros.

Only saw the first half last night but to be honest it hasn't changed for the better under Klopp!

Agree we need to wrap him up and only roll him out in key games. and even then pray he doesn't think he feels something that may become an injury in the next 12 months, so he has to hit the physio table just in case!

I am not sure what people expect him to do, he has no training days only recovery, never had a striker and has had injuries to key players since he arrived.. Lets at least give him time to train them, buy players etc before expecting him to make us world beaters

I agree he barely had any training time between games, opposed to say leicester who had 10 days to prepare for us.

As with all these things he needs time and money to build his own team, the current players actually individually might not be bad but the squad lacks balance, the only pacy winger we have is Ibe who is young and at the moment inconsistent

I think some of the early results under Klopp - while inconsistent - had people thinking miracles were happening (and to be fair, for a short while, it looked that way). He said all along that people shouldn't expect much this season; perhaps people thought he was being modest, whereas in fact he was realistic.

That is spot on. He's pragmatic, straightforward and above all realistic. No Brent speak, just honesty, which as you say some took to be modesty.

IMHO we won't know where we truly are under Klopp until this time next year, with two windows under his belt, or possibly even next summer with three.

Didn't you spend 30 odd million on Benteke? Weren't you raving about him pre-season?

Regardless of how much you spent on a player it doesn't mean they're going to hit the ground running in their first season with the club.
