There can be no Everton fan in the country who would of thought we will be 14pts ahead of the bottom 3 going into the last game ,5weeks ago ." It's a funny old game saint ".
I think there was a bit of doom mongering "Luton will get 12 points from their last 5 games". Have they ended with zero thus far, oh - the solid point Vs us...5 home wins on the bounce. Am I dreaming? Is this what it's like to be happy? Good job we've got the ensuing st show regarding the ownership else we'd be positively bouncing.
Some are talking of having to sell the entire squad (hopefully not!). Others are talking about letting just Onana go and using the money to rebuild (no chance we see that money if he's the only outgoing). Which are the two ends of the spectrum, as ever it will be somewhere in the middle. Which sadly probably involves selling Branthwaite
Hopefully a middle east club will offer 40m for Beto, which would change the picture considerably
Two points about the points deductions
1/ Not only have we lost 12.4m, we've in effect given to 4 of our rivals in the lower half (they all gain a place and 3.1m each)
2/ (I've said elsewhere, possibly the Forest thread): If points deductions don't lead to relegation, they are *purely* financial. (Forest have played a blinder with hindsight, choose between going straight back down with a threadbare squad, or spend big and cop the pts deductions)
If points deductions do lead to relegation, they send the club into a death spiral from which they might never recover (I don't think we would have). This surely isn't the point of "sustainability" rules?

Again it's all pure speculation, but the bobble (who can be very good with Everton info) is reporting we've told 777 that we're looking at alternative investors.
If it's true all I can say is about time! I still don't know how the PL haven't told 777 they're not going to pass the fit and proper persons test.

I'm not sure if they've done it to help us, or fk us over. We needed that loan from 777 so keeping them dangling might yet turn out brilliantly. But you're right, it's a 12 week process and it's took all season. And from what was said last month, the PL were willing to approve them *if* they could guarantee the money. Recent events show that's unlikely/ impossible so I'm not quite sure why the PL don't just say "no". But as you say, looks like Moshiri has finally had enough. If it's true all I can say is about time! I still don't know how the PL haven't told 777 they're not going to pass the fit and proper persons test.
Talk of Moshiri losing all his investment in Everton? (Ie we are effectively worthless, which I don't understand??) Does that mean we can be bought (by the fans) for £1 and he just walks away? Would be brilliant if he was prepared to take such a haircut, can't see it myself.
Not sure how much we are worth? Did 777 agree 500m?
Loans to repay, stadium to finish building and squad needs money spending on. There's a fortune to be spent for a new investor.
However, they'll be a brand new stadium that's been designed to improve match day revenue by a fair margin, as well as be used throughout the year for non-football income as well as hosting a euro game and there's stadium naming rights to be had.
You'd still lose a fortune though

We are over £1bn in debt, servicing that is a tall order, especially when you consider our revenue is stagnant. The new stadium will help, but the capacity will restrict earning potential and given our status as number 2 in a provincial northern city, I suspect we are not much of a draw for Middle East investors.
I reckon MSP will come back in, but they don’t have deep enough pockets to sort out the mess, so there will have to be other parties involved and some major debt restructuring. I fear we will lose our top players. DCL, Branthwaite etc

That was handball
Only the second time a ref has over ruled VAR this season I believe, I can’t see how that wasn’t hand ball, we deserved a point. Anyway, let’s hope that there are better times ahead, so glad to see the back of this season. Enjoy the Summer chaps, a few weeks of calm, stress free weekends is just what the doctor ordered.
