Spinning a positive on it rather than a negative is it seems we are willing to buy and spend money on a striker only Rodgers needs to find one young enough for FSG to splash the cash... You can understand them being more protective with their money even if they are going about it in the wrong way....

And Suso!
Now that I'm looking forward to!BR said this morning that Assaidi will train today after coming back from a groin strain which stopped him playing in the reserve game.

He has gone on international duty.

He didn't make the Morocco squad though.

Speaking of strange -
Sydney FC have confirmed Liverpool have made a rival bid for Alessandro Del Piero but the A-League club remain confident of signing the Italian striker.
Del Piero, who ended his 19-year association with Juventus when leaving on a free transfer at the end of last season. was expected to sign for Sydney in the biggest transfer in the history of Australian football.
However, Liverpool's failure to sign a new striker on transfer deadline day has forced them to consider bringing in a free agent to provide back-up to Luis Suarez and Fabio Borini.
The Reds have made an offer for the 37-year-old, who scored 208 goals in 513 appearances for Juve, and Del Piero is expected to announce his decision in a press conference in Turin on Wednesday.
However, Sydney chief executive Tony Pignata remains hopeful the former Italy international will move to Australia.
"Liverpool have come in ... and they're a big club, there's no denying that," Pignata told Fox Sports. "But I think the attraction of Australia might sway us.
"I'm still confident but until we get that signature on a piece of paper, you never know. We've done as much as we can to get this deal over the line.
"We're all anxious. I'm sure there's a lot of fans out there hanging on to get a decision. We've just got to be patient. We've only been in these negotiations for a week and sometimes these sort of negotiations take longer.
"We'll know soon one way or the other."

Who knows anymore. Would Love Coady to get a chance in the Europa/Coc games, was impressive in the u21 game.
Suso is a very talented kid, hasnt had many chances yet because he has only just turned 18 and the midfield is stacked full of talent. Assisted a goal in the US tour.
Pacheco is one of those players that seems to have gone off the boil a little bit, when he was younger he was top scorer for spain u19s at the European championship in the same team as Canales, Thiago, Romeu etc. Then went off on loan to Norwich, did well but not outstanding and then he went on loan to Rayo in the La Liga, where he played 11 times including apps against Madrid, Valencia but he didn't show much.
He got 4/5 chances under Hodgson but, again didnt show much but in the USA tour this season he looked very bright.
The talent is there going forward for sure but defensively in his last game against Roma he was poor and you just wonder if he is strong enough to play in the premier league etc. But it will be good for him to get another chance because i believe there is some untapped potential there.

Interesting. Good to hear the club has realised the scouting system has utterly failed. I remember hearing about how state of the art it was in an interview with Comolli on the LFC site a while back. That man should never get a job in football again... Smoke and mirrors.SimonRS said:
