The big debate on BBC5 Radio is that the fans booed the team off at half time and destroyed their confidence in the second half and booed them off at full time too, despite winning. Commentators saying the fans must play their part and the players were frightened of trying anything in case the crown got on their backs. True?
How can you be scared of trying something on the football pitch? Proper winners will just get on with it and have a tunnel vision mentality. The displays have, for the most part, been st all season. If you're paying a fair old whack to watch this st, you are entitled to voice your disapproval. If my customers (us, the fans, in this case) were getting angry with me for not doing a good job, I'd be trying everything I could to appease them.
I accept that but there has been a boneheaded element at Upton Park for the last 10 years which I don't like. WTF boo Lois Boa Morte? He always gave 100% and why boo Marlon Harewood... The bone heads can destroy players and it sounds as though they are getting to the players again. Listeing to the radio they said that at half time the players were talking more about getting booed off than the game itself. Bad days if you ask me.

...The contempt shown to the proper fans who actually pay more than a couple of pints down the pub, or £15 a month to SKY, to watch this dross is just unbelievable.
I would like to think that we are a broad church at Upton Park whether one's a season ticket holder or goes to the odd game two or three times a year. I consider us all proper - else we'd be supporting Chelsea, Aresenal or Spurs RichB said:

Allardyce also walked off like a complete tosser after the match. The contempt shown to the proper fans who actually pay more than a couple of pints down the pub, or £15 a month to SKY, to watch this dross is just unbelievable.
From his post match interview it seems he was pissed off with the booing from the crowd despite being one up, and continued booing in the second half.Thing is though it`s no great surprise is it. Now we`re virtually safe the revolt against BFS(out) and his utter contempt for the fans and the clubs traditions is clearly gaining momentum. Booing after a win is an interesting development. If BFS(out) doesn`t understand why it happened he really must be as thick as a whale omelette.
Just got in,left before the very end, but have just caught it on Sky and heard the booing. There were rumblings of it through the game.I said in my posts after the Man U game that the crowd had run out of patience, and it carried over tonight. The booing wasn't aimed at any individual players particularly,I'm pretty sure it's effectively a protest at BFS,and his unambitious utterly vile football.Just seen him cup his ear to the crowd at the end,and blame the performance on the fking crowd?.If you serve up st week after week to the point where some fans aren't even getting out of their seat when we score(or Hull score for us),then the support is obviously broken. It was a shockingly dire performance from a team that was obviously working to the orders of the manager.I was a big fan,and have defended him until a few games into this season, but the haters were right all along. He should do us all a favour, stop disrespecting the club, our fans and what WHU stand for,and go.
Just got in - left at 40 mins in SH and managed a couple of pints in chelmsford, which was like drinking in a morgue. Much like UP this evening.
Terrible game. Started badly and got worse. Can't take any positives from it aside from the 3 points.
Not seen the pen incident so can't comment on that but expected more against a 10 man side for most of the game.
Lack of changes and subs pisses me off, team was playing badly, there were options on the bench so make changes FFS.

hat's naïve of the boo-boys. The players bear the brunt of it and Mark Noble, who has been through think and think with West Ham, was clearly affected by it which was apparent in his post match interview.
Have you never had a dressing down by the boss when you thought what you were doing was fine? I have, several time, and it was usually due to team members not pulling their weight. He's a big lad and he gets paid more than well enough, it anything it should fire him up to prove us "boo boys" wrong.RichB said:

You're right Boa Morte in particular was very harshly treated by some of the 'fans' IMO .Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
