Some great comments on Shreeves on Twitter tonight... much of a muchness, along the same theme.

"As Muamba is on the stretcher: "Fabrice, you realise this means you probably won't play against Blackburn next weekend?"

"Geoff Shreeves has just been on the phone telling me I've never won a major!" - that's from Lee Westwood's official Twitter account.

"Geoff Shreeves is in the Barca dressing room informing each player individually that they won't be playing in the final"

"Just found out my nan died. Really upset. Thanks to Geoff Shreeves for letting me know."

"After ruining Branislav Ivanovic's night, Geoff Shreeves is now walking around the Nou Camp telling children that Santa isn't real.."

"Sky should ban Geoff Shreeves from covering the final. And then have his replacement tell him live on air."

"Next up, Geoff Shreeves breaks it to Ivanovic that his wife has left him. For John Terry!"

And probably the best of the lot...

"Branislav, your dog is dead." "Yes, is dead." "You know your dog is dead?" "Yes." "And that you will never, ever see him again?" "Is true."

yikes Cannot believe you missed the game. That was a Titanic performance. Terry aside, the other 12 or 13 who all played their part were immense. As a neutral, I have a sort of euphoric feeling similar to Istanbul and United in 99 and England beating the Argies 1-0 with the Beckham penalty. Its just one of those nights when you're proud to be supporting British teams...

I agree completely with what you've said about RDM. He has really grown into the job and surely has to be first choice. Only Jose can stop him getting the job, massive BUT though, but if RDM gets the job, he HAS to be given time to rebuild and do the job that needs doing...

Pleased for you mate. I know you're a fairly level headed supporter and you take a lot of stick on here, enjoy...
Thanks buddy.

I was so convinced that Barca would win, I didn't want to watch (and had to attend my leaving do, organised by my colleagues so would have been a bit rude.....)

It must be the defensive performance of the year for sure, to beat this Barca side and get to the final, on top of this generally disastrous season. I am almost speechless. Sad to see that Terry/Ivan/Ramires/Meireles will be banned for the final. I guess they'll have to see who's available and work with it. Ironically it could be an outing for some of the squad players!

To be fair to Neville - I admire him as a Sky pundit - he's pretty fair which I am surprised about given his obvious Utd background. I think he was genuinely happy (certinaly by the sounds he made) for Torres after the goal - one on one with VV I think I'd back Joey Deacon to score but he did what he had too ...

Incredible game from Chelsea tonight. Backs to the wall from the off but well disciplined by RdM and everyone played their part - well, 10 of them did - JT just keeps being a cock.

I was more worried when Chelsea were defending further up the field giving Sanchez and others more space to run into behind them - when they were camped on the edge of the six-yard box Barca never looked like they would score. Yes, side to side, back and forth etc, all very good and pretty but it doesn't score you a goal. No decisive passes possible when your opponents defend as deep but they did what they had to do ad good luck in the final whoever you play.

I didn't watch or listen to the game, went out for dinner with some work colleagues on a leaving do, and heard about the result from a mate. I simply can't believe it. I would like to watch the game and highlights but they don't seem to be on terrestrial tv and I've now cancelled Sky.
Shame you arent a Spud, the DVD would be out by now

John Terry has stupidly got himself sent off at the Nou Camp. Coincidentally Gerard Pique is in hospital and Shakira is home alone.

Just finished watching the match (recorded without knowing the score). Well done you lot bow amazing bow So chuffed especially for Di Matteo he's done you proud.

For me Torres goal was just a side show - could not believe he took Drogba off as he seemed to be a rock in defence!

Anyway brilliant well done Chelsea.clap

Seems Jose got it right...

Everyone thought he was crazy saying that it would NOT be a Madrid Barca final.

Madrid Chelsea would be emotional!

Maybe, but I just think Jose would do us and Munich, even at home, would be better.
Names on this I'm beginning to think.

One step at a time.....

Remember some of the best players are banned or injured now.

Reality check here.... If anyone other than an English side had played with the Chelsea tactics over 2 legs, we'd be slating them.

Well done to Chelsea for having the audacity to play like Stoke City in a European semi, it's a great result, but it was bloody awful and cynical stuff out there tonight.
