Also talking about Jermaine Jenas too, hmmm never have been sure of him, would like to have SWP at QPR though...

So, potential signings :-

Barton, good thing, spice up the midfield
SWP, good thing, handy on the wing and a tricky little player
Crouch, I rate the guy
Jenas, not sure!
Parker, he won't come IMHO
Luke Young, he'll do for now
Bullard, lovely bloke, knew him when he played for Gravesend and Northfleet, but too old and injury prone
Joe Cole, do we really need him?

We need defenders, badly...but regardless it's going to be an 'interesting' season for the Hoops!

Joey Barton!? Are you having a giggle!? I wouldn't want that nutter anywhere near a football pitch, let alone donning the Hoops!

I don't care how good he is, he should have been banned from playing a LONG time ago.
Although I agree with you to a certain extent, he's playing his best football at the moment and will be a good addition to our team, he's exactly what we need in midfield, someone to dish out a few slaps biggrin

Glad my club aren't taking this approach of mortgaging the club to the hilt to chase the Premier League money.
If you're relegated, you're up a famous creek without the proverbial paddle.

Fair play, it's a brave gamble but I wouldn't fancy the odds if it was my club.
I see your new signing is out for 3 months, bad luck!

Its exciting times, I put your post down to envy, about time our club had some good fortune, we're going places that Norwich aren't IMHO,

We shall see....

You're potentially going places we aren't but at the risk of the long term future of the club, something which isn't going to happen under our current ownership.

Ayala is out for a couple of months, but our team isn't about one man. It's a team y'see.
Well last season you said it was all about Taarabt, I assume now you mean it's all about Barton?

We have very wealthy people behind the club for LONG TERM growth and stability, we are making potentially exciting signings and like I said it's just envy from you Dale.

From nigh on administration to having very sound backing (not just from Fernandes) we have the chance of at least staying up and progressing over the years.

So, let's see what happens to both our clubs, I'm hoping BOTH will stay up as I have a soft spot for Norwich and think it's a good club, I just feel as I said we're going places now and hope for a good season.

I think Barton is a brilliant player, it's only politics that's keeping him out of the England set up.
No offence to QPR fans but I think he could have walked into any team in the country bar the top 3 or 4.
As a Toon fan, I will miss the passion and enthusiasm that he possessed.
I'm personally glad we have him, he's signed as he knows we're up to something.

Hit the post twice today, the crossbar once, should have had a penalty and Wigans two goals were deflections, still, got put it in the net....

Oh yes its going to be a long slog and we need to be on form at home, once our new signings are playing then it SHOULD improve.

Shaun Wright Philips next I think........

Norwich weren't ever looking to sign anyone on deadline day. Its called organisation, you may learn about it in the next couple of years. No doubt Fernandez does have good credentials, and if you can stay up this season, you'll have a good chance of creating a team capable of maintaining the premiership status for a good few years, unless he gets bored of course...

So how do you reckon you'll line up for next weekend? Personnally, out of all of these rushed signings theres only really Bartan that i'd want in the Norwich team and i use the word 'want' in the loosest sense. No doubt hes a good player, but hes got a screw loose, only a matter of time before the egos clash... SWP is past his best, likewise Luke Young and Anton Ferdinand is hardly a world beater. I know you lot rant on about be jealous, and yes, of course i'd love Norwich to be signing top players, but i'm happy enough with what we've got, we're creating a squad for the future. We know its gonna be a struggle this season, but hopefully we have a squad capable of bouncing back should the worst happen...
Dear Andyjo, to answer your question i think we will probably line up something like this:

GK: Kenny (one of the top ten keepers in the country)

RB: Young (no way is he past it, still has plenty to offer and is a very capable full back)
CB: Ferdinand (decent at this level)
CB: Gabbidon/Hall/Perone (i prefer Hall but when he is injured i expect Gabbidon to get the nod, Perone might be an ok signing for us, hit the bar against Wigan. Too early to tell.)
LB: Traore (I think this chap will be a great signing for us once he gets some match fitness)

DM Faurlin (Quality and you know it)
DM Derry ( i said before the season started i thought he could do a job for us this year and has looked good so far)

MC/AM Barton (him and Derry will be our leaders on the pitch this year)

RW Wright Phillips (no way is he past his best. You don't know what your talking about chap)
LW Tarrabt (he is starting to get fitter now after a poor pre season as he spent more time with his agent than on the pitch. he will have abit more freedom and will cut in from the wing no doubt)

CF Bothroyd (he will be used as a link player which he does best. Look for him to use his height for knock downs and for him to hold the ball up to bring our attacking midfielders into play.)

Then with the likes of DJ Campbell (plenty of pace and an eye for goal), Tommy Smith (great hardworking player), Buszacky on the bench i think we look pretty decent and have potential to play some very eye catching football this year.

Its just a shame this wasn't done in the summer so these lads could of got a good pre-season under there belts playing together. It may take time for them to gel and time is something you do not have at this level. But when you compare what we have bought compared to what you have and lets not forget we have only spend 2.4M more i think its safe to say your God Lambeth has not been so God like in the trasfer market.
You have bought championship quality to keep you up in the Premiership, to me, that makes no sense.
Time will tell. Oh and i see Holt got 25% of his seasons goals last weekend, fair play to him. :0)
hehe

Let's wait and see what happens in the next transfer window smile

We can slag each others clubs / players off to the hilt but it's all about how they perform together, Norwich to me need to work some magic at home although having said that they were desperately unlucky to lose against Chelsea.

Well just in from the game.

How the heckedy heck we didn't win that I will never know, Newcastle hardly had a kick.

Taarabt turning on the class again against Premiership opposition and SWP was very good, as was Derry, Bothroyd looked unfit.

Gabbidon however is VERY suspect, my man of the match was Faurlin, a very classy player, but we really should have took the points, big up the Newcastle fans they were great smile

I think with Barton being captain and SWP being there too, Taarabt will not feel as pressurised as he was nearly carrying the team last season.

I think we have a better chance of staying up now and hope that last nights good performance wasn't just due to Barton v Newcastle.

Bassong in the next transfer window please and Gabbidon can go to Norwich biggrin

biggrin

Well, Newcastle didn't get a kick and neither did Wolves, good times and hope it lasts a bit longer, but looking good, got a nice vibe about it all.

Joey Barton is a character to have, I like that.

I think we'll beat Villa, they're mediocre at best, I have confidence all of a sudden, which I'm sure will get shattered at some point.

I'll be there again too smile

There is no reason why we can't take 3 points off Villa on Sunday. They have a pretty big list of injured or doubtful players aswell. I think it will probably end up being 1-1 though.
I hope you had a cheeky punt on that biggrin

Well we need a decent forward, Bothroyd couldn't score in an Under 5's game.

In all the games I have watched this season Bothroyd looks slow, low in confidence and very out of sorts, he's so left footed it's unreal, I hope he does come good, he is good at holding the ball up and good in the air, but he should have scored by now with the chances he's had, particularly against Newcastle. As soon as DJ came on against Villa everything changed up front, his pace and positioning he takes up was very good, although I'm unsure if he too is Premiership quality, got great teeth though!

I just wished we had signed Mackail Smith, he's exactly the sort of player we need poaching in and around the box, good in the air for a little fella, I also half wished we had signed Bendtner?!?

I think if we keep Hall and Ferdinand at the back we'll do ok against Fulham, but with them winning well last night in Europe, they'll be on a high.

I think it'll be a draw and a low scoring affair, would love Adel to nick a few as he's in my Sun dream team biggrin

"Optimism" and "QPR" go together like "Arsenal" and "defence". Random wheels are surely about to fall off.
Right. Normal service has been resumed. Wheels off in spectacular fashion.
I knew it would come, but i didn't expect it against Fulham, it's frightening that we still have to play Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Spurs, Liverpool.

Fair play to Fulham, they battered us pure and simple and it's going to be a long hard season.

I notice all the Norwich fans in here gloating, I'm just glad we played badly and lost, it would be evern worse if we'd been playing well and still lost!

New defence required please Neil, ASAP!
