If predictions weren't a mugs game, there'd be no bookies and there are a lot of bookies.
On AVB though, I always felt Tottenham was his last chance in English football. After the Chelsea debacle where imo he was sent in with a brief to clear out the old royalty only to have the rug pulled from under his feet by Abramovich, he needed to prove to the game that he can do it in England.
If he fails at Spurs, then I can't see him in the prem again.

With the money we've spent, we have to achieve top 4 otherwise financially we should have taken the money from Bale and just settled for mid table mediocrity.
You do look to have completed an impressive looking jigsaw puzzle. I was talking to a chap who works behind the scenes at Tottenham. He's seen a few managers come and go over the years he's been there. He rates AVB as the best and most switched on by far. £88mills - is that the Bale fee spent to the penny?

I don't think it needs to be - I believe that even if we kept Bale, as it stands we're only around 40m down - which alone wouldn't be an unreasonable investment anyway.
A new stadium under construction and changes in how PL business is done to follow. We've been there and done that. Are we just better at keeping hold of our cash? Should be the other way around, Shirley!? Glassman said:

First half of the season AVB had no plan B and left it too late with subs to change the tempo/format of a game. He has progressed from his days at Porto (have a friend who supports them) and has become very astute for one so young.£88mills - is that the Bale fee spent to the penny?
Selling Bale has given him the money to build a complete squad which started way back with the purchase of Lloris.
£88m is probably what we will get for Bale. However we now have the wages of 7 odd new players instead of 1 superstar but we did also offload quite a few players.
Let's see what the season holds. Either way, I know everyone likes to say we are a small club but there is only one club the world has been talking about this transfer window and it's us.
COYS.

I said previously to this comment that buying players doesn't necessarily guarantee success. The 70proof fella said "top four is easy" with your recent acquisitions.
As much of a shot to the arm your purchases are, I'm asking if such confidence is wise. You do appear to be doing a lot right, I'll give you that. How it pans out over a season is still a long way from realising. You do have a great tradition of bottling it...

seriously though, everyone bought in is better than what we had or it replaces, AVB is a good manager - we stopped shipping late goals last season and 'arry failed getting bale to play well cutting inside, so, if one isn't optimistic or deluded this season, well, then one will never be...
dare i say these purchases are almost like he early wenger/comolli years down the road....

Anymore of your starting 11 gets crocked and you really are in the pooh.
We already are. I do think the team is playing with a renewed sense of determination but it's far from comfortable. Chesney takes far too many risks; our defence can still get caught if we push up too high; Jenkinson has little confidence and always plays the safer pass, usually backwards; we still can't cross a decent ball and if and when we do, there's no fecker there to meet it; we have no pace on the left except for when Gibbs gets forward and these leaves us exposed... I could go on. Ramsey's on form though.
And we've got Santi Cazorla.
Giroud is looking sharper, holds the ball up well and wins most headers.
Ummm....
We've got a big fking German.

"It's a difficult situation for everyone involved," King, who retired after a 13-year career at White Hart Lane last year, told Sky Sports News.
"They've dealt with it well. The club always tries to deal with these things as professionally as possible. If you do lose players you have to replace them as best you can and the club have been brilliant at that.
"In the past they've always brought in new players and that's what the club will continue to do if they want to compete.
"They have been brilliant in the market though. I've seen Paulinho in his first few games and he's been brilliant. Soldado is a goalscorer and he knows how to find the back of the net.
"He was so calm with the penalty [against Swansea] and that was great to see. Etienne Capoue also looks brilliant. I didn't know too much about him but I've been very impressed with him.
"The future for Tottenham looks very good."
triffic.....

My Dad's a Gooner btw so we do have some good chats about the state of affairs of both clubs and he's quite despondent at the moment. He reckons that you may hold station this season if you're lucky but that only depends on making a huge investment at the winter transfer session. If you have slipped from top 4/5 by Xmas, no one of any note is going to want to join you mid season.
His view.
Your dads a gooner and you support spurs! Christ my dad would would disown me in an instant if I supported spurs His view.

True that.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
