Off to Vicarage Road tomorrow night to watch my mighty Swans lose to Watford....

....paying £27 for the pleasure.

Not been to a match for a long time - is that an average charge for a Tuesday night away tariff?
I couldn't tell you. Despite being a loyal Watford fan through thin and thin, I've stopped going, I object to paying that much when I could get far more bang for my buck elsewhere.
Never been to Vicarage Road - which stand do I head for for the away end?

And will I get beaten up on the walk back to the Harlequin?

rofl

The only possible cause of trouble at the Vic is the arrival of the irrelevant L***n. The away end is the nearest corner to the Harlequin. Opposite the pub as you arrive at the ground.

And you're winning 0-2 frown

Cardiff were st against Millwall on Saturday (despite winning) so quite glad i didn't go to the Palace game tonight.

Its mad how close this division is and what a competitive league it is with teams seemingly losing one week and then winning the next. So far QPR are the only ones with any consistency, but its early days and definately going to be a long old season.

It's a very strange league, I was a bit concerned after watching us come apart v Watford, however after recent results the inconsistancy points at you're more liable to get punished for mistakes at this level.

Very pleased with the result at QPR tonight and breaking our normal habit of conceding late goals, now looking forward to Burnley at home this Saturday.

Millwall defended well last night. We simply ran out of ideas and looked quite tired out there. There was a great atmposphere although i don't think hardly any millwall fans actually watched the game. They were far more interested in getting our attention.

Forest should have won but didn't frown

And what the hell happened at the Leeds game? Did no goal keepers turn up? yikes

Fantastic entertaiment at Vicarage Road last night (although heart-attack enducing for us Swans fans at the end).

First 30 mins we controlled superbly and two cracking goals (Scott Sinclair will play in the Premiership one day).

But the rest was fairly even until the last 15 mins when we lost the plot and gave the ball to Watford too much. It was like the bloody Alamo!

Fair play to Watford for a gritty comeback, and a Hollywood finish with the disallowed goal at the death (it was definitely offside wink).

Cracking game - what a league!

I took my usual spot in Carrow Road last night not really knowing what to expect. The 2-0 home defeat on Saturday where we played Hull off the park for long periods proved football is a funny old game.

Leicester visited on the back of a 6-1 drubbing, so it was fair to assume they had a point to prove. So no suprise when they took the lead after just a minute of play...Waghorn's low shot sneaked under the keeper as he fumbled it. Feck!

Still the one thing we do know about life under Paul Lambert is that going one or even two goals down does not mean goodnight.
A decent first half unfolded, both teams producing some good football (and poor defending), played at 100mph in true Championship style. Norwich leveled just after the half hour.

Honours even at half time, but City sensed a kill in the second half and hunted down the now nervous foxes. 8 minutes into the half a clear handball won us a penalty, which Wes Hoolahan cooly put away.
After another 20 odd minutes of knocking on Leicester's increasingly fragile looking door, we finally made it 3-1 as Adam Drury scored his first goal since 2005 (we were in the Premier League then!)

With the supporters (and probably the players!) still in shock from Drury's goal, Leiester hit back immediately as substitute Fryatt scored a comedy goal after a period of football pinball in the penalty box.
Leicester woke up, like they collectively suddenly realised they could win this if they get stuck in, and Norwich picked up 3 bookings in our efforts to convince them they couldn't.

Then came the moment of the match. Wes Hoolahan, set up beautifully by Grant Holt hit a glorious half volley from 25 yards which left the Leicester keeper with no chance. 4-2 and surely just a case of playing out the last 15 minutes? Not in this league!

3 minutes later, Fryatt scored his second and their third goal. Amusingly though, he then immediately got shown the red card for handbags with our defender Barnett in trying to retrieve the ball from the net. Oh how we larfed smile

So 4-3. Much better than a 1-0. Well yeah, but not for my nerves.
To complete an enjoyable evening out, as we left the ground I learned Ipswich lost to an 88th minute winner and dirty Leeds lost 6-4 at home.
A good day methinks...

When is Wes Hoolahan going to get his ROI call up? I'd be worried about injuries etc, but by god he deserves it.

I was at CR too on Tuesday night. Great game of football, real end to end stuff. That 2nd goal from Wes just gets better and better each time i see it. Was a bit concerned with the defence and keeper after that game as it seemed Leicester were getting through a bit too easily. Fryatt getting sent off sorted us right out and we cruised the last 10 mins.

Onto today, i dont think i've ever been so confident of us getting a result away from home as today. Listened to it on the radio, didn't sound a very good game, though we are now looking very solid away from home, (thats back to back wins and clean sheets away). At half time, we were 2-0 up, a classy finish from Jackson and another penalty from Wes, sounded like brizzle came at us at the start of the second half, but then after a route 1 goal kick, Jacko got his second.

I predicted we could finish top 10 earlier on the thread and i still stand by that. Its too early to get carried away and we've got some tough games coming up in the next 2 months. Perhaps, if by Xmas we're still around the play-offs we can strengthen a bit more and push on but at the moment, it just feels good to be winning regularly at this level and also picking up points on the road. Our away form in the championship was terrible for the last few seasons we were in there.

Paul Lambert is doing a fantastic job and long may he keep it up. Also must give a mention for Andrew Crofts who has been awesome since joining from Brighton, one of the bargains of the summer and also Leon Barnett, he too has been really good for us since joining on loan from The Baggies, hopefully we can make his move permenant in January.

Bump this after todays events. Well, the Canaries battled to a well deserved point at the league leaders QPR today. Should've won really, Hoolahan put a penalty wide, which, if you still up at midnight you can see tonight, sounded like he really scuffed it. Nevermind, i would've taken a point before the game so i'm happy, plus we're still in 3rd with 2 home game against Palace and Boro coming up.

We've had an unbeleivable start to the season, to be 3rd nearly 1/4 of the way through is brilliant. We do have a tough run of games coming though, including Boro, Cardiff, Ipst, Leeds, Burnley and Millwall. However we look solid, especially away which is unusual for us and we're creating a fair few chances, i'm confident Palace or Boro are gonna get a bit of a spanking (3-0, 4-0 or so) in the next 2 games.

Any other Championship guys and gals wanna share their views on their team?

Definitely a good point for Norwich at QPR, which helped Cardiff close the gap. Severnside derby always a tough game so pleased to see Cardiff get the points there. (Good to see Chopra back as well!)

Well battled Swansea City!

3 points stolen at the Madjeski Stadium - not an easy place to go. A nice return for Brendan Rogers and his Barmy Army!

Yep, i deserved that smile

I wasn't at the game last night but listened on the radio. We were poor by all accounts, 1 shot on target which we scored from and the conceded from 2 corners. Brought me back down to earth with a bump. Hoolahan was marked out the game and Jackson had no chance all night against Gardiner. Good win for Palace, they got some decent players on loan now and if they can keep them all fit, they should be able to get in the top half, Ambrose is crucial for you as well. However, Norwich went down the loan route a few years ago, and got relegated. We had more loans than we could play in any one game.

So Norwich fans, trip to Cardiff tomorrow. Think it'll be a tough, close game. Cardiff have an excellent home record, but i can see Norwich giving as good as they get so i wouldn't be surprised by a score draw or a narrow home win. smile
