Yet, ironically, last season I thought they both looked like a stable, solid pair of full backs.
Both had wingers in front of them last season. Playing too narrow at the moment and general movement's been poor with no system seemingly being played. Jenks looked really poor and wasn't great last week.
Cresswell made defensive mistakes last season but weighed in with assists and goals and it was his first season in PL so they got overlooked.

And I can't understand not only that the back four are so deep so often, but why with so many defensive midfielders they end up so exposed as well.
The only thing worse than our performance today ... Was our fans . What an utter disgrace they were, shameful.

Booing Nolans name , booing Jenks in the first half , booing the drinks break, booing the substitutions, booing at half time and on and on.... An absolute disgrace to the club.
I didn't hear booing Nolan's name but I was probably still not in my seat. Booing the drinks breaks seemed odd but other than that the crowd pay good money to watch and the performance today was IMO not acceptable. Can't understand why Shako was substituted , if the paying crowd dissagree with the decision why shouldnt they let it be known?Because if they'd bothered to watch they would have seen Sakho getting his leg sprayed during the drinks break just before he came off . Ogbonna was pulled off because although good on the ball
he was constantly out of position.
Booing does jack all for anyone, and to start 30 minutes into the game 2 weeks after a win at Arsenal, with a manager 5 minutes into the job was utterly shameful .

If Sakho was hurt then fair enough but words like 'if they'd bothered to watch' seem neither fair nor helpful. I didn't notice his leg being sprayed, probably 90 % of the crowd also missed this monumental event. He wasn't the only player to receive treatment.he was constantly out of position.

Booing individual players is unacceptable IMO but booing at the end of a general crap performance was fair enough.

Booing at the end is completely different to booing after 30 minutes 3 games into a season,or booing individual players when they're confidence is shot, or booing a drinks break ( which is a PL or FIFA stipulation I'm led to believe). All that classless stuff achieves is to play into the opposition hands,Jenks was literally a quivering wreck at the end. We talk about only singing when they're winning to Arsenals fans, ours are worse.
Bilic has made two really bad calls in the last two games. Playing Oxford last week when he should have let the hype calm down, and playing Ogbonna yesterday which meant Reid had to play on the right side rather than his favoured left for no reason other than to fit Ogbonna in. Add that to too fullbacks having their worse games in our shirts (which you can't account for), and trying to cope with no doubling up because we were so bloody narrow, and it was a recipe for disaster.

There are some morons at West Ham and it goes back years. I don't get to many games these days but when I did I used to get really pissed off with people booing our players - Boa Morte was a case in point. Why he ever wanted to put on a claret & blue shirt amazed me the amount of stick he'd cop from the chicken run side. Bone-headed idiots IMO.On another subject, and having first hand experience of it. this is damning but 100% bang on .

Up until last season, I went to pretty much every game both home and away. When you are spending well into mid 4 figures money, I feel you are entitled to voice your anger. Some people go about it the wrong way, but in my opinion someone like Jenks shouldn't be a quivering wreck - he's paid to be professional and if he can't do the job, why are the club wasting OUR money on his wages and loan fees?
I haven't been to a game this season yet and I am worried by what I read, I really hope Bilic isn't going to turn out to be a bad gamble.

All it achieves is to destroy confidence, stop players expressing themselves , and give the opposition the incentive to have a right go. The crowds job is to intimidate the opposition at Upton Park, not our own bloody players .
Irrespective of how much they earn, they're human and will respond accordingly.
I said when he was appointed I was really concerned , but I'm buggered if I'm going to start booing 3 games in. We were crap, but no player put out there played crap deliberately .

Jesus H Christ, what a shower of st. Disgusting way to treat people. The people at the top should hang their heads in shame, shocking dereliction of duty. Reading that has seriously pissed me off. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/parents-warning-foo...

Wasn't very nice was it, i bet there is a lot of stories far worse than this too.Really not sure why some top teams bother with the academy system, they never seem to give their youth a chance, I guess the parents are at the mercy of these big clubs because of the huge rewards if their boy makes it.
