I also thought MGW was poor today. Maybe having Reyna will cause him to buck up his ideas.
Williams was an odd choice for me to start today, i just don't think he is Prem quality. Tavares also poor mostly (especially that shot in the 2nd half!). Looking forward to having Aina back, and i would also persevere with Montiel on the right. I thought Yates was also not great today, and was lucky to have Dominguez playing alongside him (who I thought was awesome!).
Brilliant finish from CHO but i'm still not convinced by him.

Oh dear, we seem to have lost that home town, city ground thing we had last season.
Ugly game.
Actually really enjoyed the game, apart from the result.Ugly game.
Though Elanga was awesome today.
Nuno needs to sort out the defence, not sure what the answer is. Love Murillo but the centre pairing is somehow too weak. Maybe better when Boly is back?
Felt we missed Mangala today.
A draw would have been a fair result.

All the focus on the penalty that wasn’t has been on whether the keeper fouled him or if he stumbled and was going down anyway.
For me the defender gives Awoniyi a shove in the back and there’s a trip which cause the stumble and the the keeper puts his arm out too.
100% should’ve been a penalty.
My other gripe about the officiating is that Newcastle’s tactic at set pieces and even on open play is to use blockers. And I know that’s been done before but there’s are active rather than just being in the way.
Look at Gordon on Elanga when they take the short corner. Elanga would easily have closed down Tripper if Gordon hadn’t fouled him.
And for their third Dominguez is flattened off the ball.
