Ahhh JT. Anyone remember that England game where he tried to head a ball sideways & at ground level? Ended up with a mouth full of grass and almost ate the ball.

Class.

I'd quite like to throw Diego Costa in with this bunch of lightweights. He'd bag some goals, whilst sorting out the mentality of some of the current squad.

I really liked Costa. He seemed to fit right in immediately and show as much passion as the best of them. Didn’t mind a striker’s tackle every now and then. hehe

Like Drogba though he could throw a sulk. But I'd take either of them in their prime anyday over just about any other striker.

I watched something last night with Shaun Wright-Phillips & Scott Minto discussing various Chelsea & Man CIty players. Their praise for Drogba as a player was immense. They pointed out that whilst Drognas goal tally wasn't vast what he did for the team was awesome in they way he just bullied & intimidated opposing defenders & he was superb at holding up play & giving the defence relief when they needed it. They also noted that he was a real leader in training. If anyone wasn't giving it 100% he would be all over them. .

Interesting that when you look at say Jackson today and his likely goal tally it's not far off Drogba......

Costa had 20 goals in the league first season, he was an animal however always likely to self combust.

Not a single player wanted in the current squad for me, I think we should all just stop living in the past or we'll end up like the Goons and Spuds.

Agreed Jacksons strike rate is not hugely differnt to Drogbas. But Drogba did the business when it mattered. His strike rate in finals was pretty good. Now if Jackson scores the winner in the League Cup final.....

Some of the goals scored by Drogba were awesome. He completely destroyed Arsenal nearly every time he played them

Looks like they'll be missing Jota who's been bang in form; but equally Salah straight back into it with a goal & assist.... so arguably stronger than they have been lately. Not sure Curtis Jones would have started a final so might not be a big loss for them, good as he is. But our recent performances may may just be sign of Poch getting his style and formation thrashed out. Too early to say of course but at least we have some green shoots of recovery that might suggest a low end european spot is possible. 2 draws against Citeh after the way we started? Surely most of us would have taken that.....

Two points dropped today to me, got a bit leggy at the end but sucked the pressure up well.

Jackson and Sterling gave us what we needed first half.

I felt second half that potch and Southgate are 2 peas from the same Pod

Hanging on to a glass half full and being so grateful to be in that position, to the detriment of actually winning a game and progressing …

Casadei struggled for us so God knows how he's getting minutes for you, got a lot to learn and improve on.

Man City obviously had more chances, but thought you could have been 3 or 4 goals up in the first half. Lovely finish from Raheem.

I think in general Po(t)ch will be shaped like today a lot.

Simeone, Bielsa, all similar.

It was good to get at least a point tonight, good confidence into next weekend, just a shame we wasn't playing the spuds after they got mashed up today as it was postponed for the cup final.

Que sera sera...were going to Wembley.......

Positive outcomes and predictions please?

I'm really positive we could have a decent game and take our chances today, apparently Silva is being assessed but I don't think we need worry.

Also I hear Brent council have added tonnes more Bins down in the area in the event of celebrations happening on the other side though.

My son is treating me today, he's got 2 £125 tickets, not sure if he bought them or blagged them thru work, but hey ho. Then I'm taking him for dinner afterwards. We normally see each other for one reason or another every 2 or 3 days but he's been in Spain and I've been in the USA so haven't seen him for about 2 weeks, so looking forward to the day.

My usually optimistic side is feeling positive based on some recent performances looking a bit more cohesive whilst players who've looked absolute rubbish in some games have shown that maybe, just maybe, they do have talent and just needed coaching and the manager to settle on a style of play and squad selection. But we're so inconsistent. It really just matters which team turns up today - if the Chelsea that outplayed City for periods of their last game turn up we have a chance. If it's the Wolves Chelsea then we're on for a hiding. I just hope it's a decent game, quite a few of these have ended up going to pens.

Edited to add - we've had 8 days to prep since our last game vs 4 for Liverpool. Don't know how much that matters but if it goes to extra time you'd think they'll tire more than we do; plus we're very young (fitter?). Both teams with 2nd choice keepers too - although tbf I think Petrovic has been excellent and has probably nailed the position down as his own with Sanchez out.
