What definitely hasn't happened yet is Spurs new stadium or even the financing for it.
Always nice to hear from an insider from the finance department of THFC...got any other info...?The design for the stadium has been passed from KSS (who've designed it) to Populus (another global design team) to give their opinion and recommendations.
Anyone who's been watching Levy operate will know that Levy will most definitely NOT announce anything until all of the i's are dotted and t's crossed - he's about as prudent as a chairman can be.
Previous experience of Levy's modus-operandi points towards the first time we'll all know about it being when EVERYTHING is in place to move forward and at the moment, with the design not even being settled and hence all of the planning permissions not being granted, thats not now.
I am guessing the numbers don't add up on the original design as getting a new architect/designer in won't be cheap. It's either too expensive to build or they can't fit enough seats in I suppose. I thought they'd started demolition of some of the buildings around there ? From what I have read they already had planning permission ?
All sounds like it's a bit of a 'mare like Liverpool's new stadium.
From an Arsenal fan's perspective that's all good though. Every year longer will mean it's harder for Spurs to catch up financially and it won't be getting any cheaper.I guess that's why they got very upset about the Olympic Stadium, that will have cost Spurs a huge amount of money.
Spurs will be relegated within the next 10 years.

Well as this thread seems to run on rumour and hearsay I'll join in...
Word is that Levy is looking for a partial redesign to allow for a 'safe standing' area like they have in Germany should it ever come to pass in this country...and the pressure is growing on that score.
So thats 2 things our stadium will have that yours wont...Atmosphere and Foresight.
Safe standing is something Arsenal want too, and can be implemented into the Emirates very easily. In fact they are the club fighting hardest to convince the powers that be that it's the way forward. If memory serves me right Arsenal are the ones who have got the Prem clubs together to put a case forward. It's a nice thought they Levy is trying to do that but just think about what he's doing, he's increasing the costs in terms of design and also delaying the project....that's costing serious, serious money. No way is it being done just to add the possibility of a standing area which will require multiple external approvals and quite possibly may never happen.
Maybe he's trying to add standing as part of a bigger redesign but Levy's a businessman.

I needed to go on to a Spurs forum because what was being said on here didn't make sense........

You can fit more bodies but can you charge as much ? I'll give you a clue. No. Last time I checked Spurs were building the stadium to make money.

I know, try to post less and it'll go away I needed to go on to a Spurs forum because what was being said on here didn't make sense........
But seriously, a good atmos will generate sales, if safe standing were not a financial goer no clubs would be advocating it.
ETA: I don't know which Spurs forum you're looking at but I think it highly unlikely Levy is going for 61,000. Thats just wishful thinking from some spuds who want to get 1 up on the Arse. Frankly they'll be happy with 1 more seat than the Emirates.
I'd rather a fully sold out 56k than a 61k stadium with thousands absent.

I still think we need a decent DM on top of those mentioned above.
Yup the fact Arteta played the last game at Newcastle when clearly not fit tells you how important he is and the fact we don't have the right quality of cover. Coquelin and Frimpong were both thought to be excellent prospects in that position but neither have made it....Frimpong's injuries were very bad luck, but deciding he's a fashion guru probably didn't help his cause.
In terms of where money has to be spent it's on a striker, defensive midfielder and centre back.....in three of those positions were a combined injury/suspension from a nightmare.
A top class goalkeeper would be nice to push Scezzer but he responded very well to being dropped last season has a great attitude and all the ability and physique you need to become a really good keeper. I'd like to see him backed to make the position his own. Plus I think the money could be spent better elsewhere.

Frimpong has Denched himself out of the running, plus we don't want a red card liability in the team. Coquelin on the other hand has looked pretty good; reminded me a bit of Flamini in the way that he was open to play anywhere (and do it well too). I hope he stays - I like him. Glassman said:

As I said, 3 quality signings in the positons discussed would make me very happy indeed.
