I'm not upset, just telling him to grow up.

Strange thing is this Lampard thread and the Mourinho thread got diverted to Spurs chat. Seems like you're a needy lot.

Anyhow enough already. Shall we go and pick on Man U or Liverpool threads next?

Based on hard stats, fat Frank was better than Stevie G.

Lampard won more trophies and scored more goals.

Both outstanding players, and, above all, consistent.

FL:
Prem = 3
FA Cup = 4
League Cup = 2
Champs League = 1
Europa / UEFA Cup = 1
Super Cup = 0
England Caps = 106
Awards = 14
Balloon d'Or = 2nd
Goal ratio = 29%

SG:
Prem = 0
FA Cup = 2
League Cup = 3
Champs League = 1
Europa / UEFA Cup = 1
Super Cup = 2
England Caps = 114
Awards = 14
Balloon d'Or = 3rd
Goal ratio = 27%
That means bugger all really Stevie G had to play alongside some very average players at Liverpool whereas Frank played with some of the most expensive players in the world at Chelsea.

If Steven Gerrard had played for Chelsea for the same period of time a Lampard did the records would have been pretty much the same.

I think it's generally accepted they Gerrard was the better player,
Even when Lampard and Gerrard played on / for the *same* team (England), Lampard came out top.

Lampard scored 50% more goals-per-game for England than Gerrard.

Lampard England goalscoring ratio = 27%;
Gerrard England goalscoring ratio = 18%.

When playing abroad in the US League, Lampard scored over +180% more goals-per-game than Gerrard.

By pretty much every major analysis -- trophies, awards, goals and assists -- Lampard is the better player.

The perception that Gerrard was better than Lampard is simply not supported by reality.

Wow, are those the only metrics by which we can measure how good a player is?? What about defensive attributes - tackles, blocks, interceptions? Leadership attributes - which one captained England more times? Passing? There is more to a midfielders game than just goals and assists you know....

No one can really say who was better out of Gerrard & Lampard. Lampard played most of his career in a far better team, and thus had a better career, in terms of pure achievement. But Gerrard elevated his mediocre team to heights they never should have reached.

In 2005, when they deservedly knocked Chelsea out of the CL and went on to win it, Chelsea finished 35 points ahead of them in the league!!

For me the sad thing is with both those players available, successive England managers couldn't work out a way to get the best out of either. No one can tell me Lampard didn't achieve for England because of his poor attitude. I dare say the same is true of Gerrard.
