We got smashed 6-0 in the semi's by Waverley's Old Boys. We came 2nd to them on the ladder though it was our worst defeat of the season. It was like whippets against half dead hippos.

We "play" in the Sydney Eastern Suburbs League Div 10. smile

Had my first friendly last week for a newly created Saturday team in the Mid Essex league....

In the second half I lasted 15 mins before scoring a spectaculat left footed volley (own goal) followed by spraining my ankle at the kickoff and I haven't been able to walk properly since!

Swimming last night went well though so should be alright by the weekend, fingers crossed!

haha GOLD!

I find that for injuries like that getting a wheat bag boiling hot and sticking it on the affected area actually helps. Wish I did it years ago. I find after every game I am reciting Danny Glover one liners.

Now that would have been a good idea!
Instead I decided to spend the next day hopping around Cambridge and punting! The ankle was huge by the end of the day so it's been getting a regular dosage of frozen peas and voltarol gel since.

I think I might look into getting a wheat bag though, I'm not getting any younger and the ankles seem to be taking the brunt of it.

Didnt want to suggest it unless it sounded gay but if you use that gel underneath the heatpack you should be good as gold.

Sounds good.... now I just have to find one that doesn't smell of lavender!

I'm supposed to have training and a friendly tonight with my Saturday and Sunday teams and it looks like I'll have to miss them both frown

Well it was a 6-1 win for us tonight but it was a friendly and the other team were nowhere near the same standard!

I turned up to watch in the pouring rain and was gutted to not be playing.

Our next friendly is in 8 days so I have to get fit for that because the first game is the following week! Looks like I have a week of swimming ahead of me!
